Less Is More - Newsprint

Was just finishing this card yesterday when the two RAF jets flew through the sound barrier intercepting the Latvian cargo plane - it was very loud and a good job I'd finished with the scissors.

This weeks challenge at Less Is More is to use newsprint.

I've made a Christmas card using my favorite Christmas stamp [PSX], I've had it for years and always manage to use it every Christmas.

I stamped the script [stamp unknown] with festive berries and forest moss distress ink.
I stamped and embossed the image onto a book page, cut it out and adhered it to the card, then I added some gold beads, narrow ribbon and stamped the greeting.

Another LIM Card

I've managed to make another card for the LESS IS MORE sketch challenge.
I stamped the image onto white card and coloured it with watercolour pencils, then went round the edge with a blue ink pad and I also went round the edge of the card blank with the blue ink pad. I attached the image to the card and added some stickles on the snowy bits, then I stamped the Season's Greetings.
All the stamps that I've used are by Creative Expressions.

Ingredients.
Artemio stamps for the stars.
Inkadinkado stamps for the holly and words.
Pentel, gold pen.

Archival ink, jet black and Olive.
Here is a cream card made exactly the same.

Take Three Challenges

The challenge at Less Is More this week is to choose three of the previous 29 challenges.
The three I have chosen are:
Week 9 A touch of red.
Week 15 Embossing.
Week 25 Button or ribbon.
The card I made is fairly straight forward. I stamped the lovely robbin with coffee Archival ink and coloured him with red watercolour pencil and a water brush, the ebossed card was done with a dotty Cuttlebug folder I also embossed the image. I distressed the edges of the image and embossed card.
The robin is an Andy Skinner stamp and the seasons greetings is an Inkadinkado stamp.
That's my first Christmas card of the year done.

Things That Move

LESS IS MORE are looking for Things That Move for their challenge this week. I decided to use this lovely Stampsmith ballerina.
A few weeks ago I coloured some acetate with Alcohol inks and used a piece of it on my card, I'm not very good at stamping on acetate so I like to lay it over stamped images and secure with brads, that is what I've done with this card. The sentiment is a stamp by Art Declassified.

Less Is More Playing With Ink

They are playing with inks at Less Is More this week so as I've just bought some Distress Stain Dabbers I thought I would use those. I dabbed some worn lipstick, scattered straw, victorian velvet, rusty hinge and tattered rose onto some paper then pressed my white card blank onto it. I then stamped the image and sentiment.
The stamps that I've used are
Dina Wakley/Stampington for the main image, I love this stamp.
Creative Expressions Dream set for the sentiment.

For the main image I used a Crafty Individuals stamp and I used a Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous stamp for the background. The happy birthday is an Inkadinkado stamp.

LIM Week 25

The theme at Less Is More this week is Button or Ribbon so I raided my button box and came up with this card.
I stamped the button corner onto a pale green card blank and stamped the stitches across the bottom. Then I embossed some white card in my Epic6 using a Creative Expressions button stencil and then I matted a strip of it onto black card and attached it to the card blank. I stamped the sentiment and watch onto white card, matted the sentiment onto black card and then attached them to the card blank. Then I added lots of buttons.
The stamps I used are
Creative Expressions, corner buttons.
Andy Skinner, stitches, sentiment and watch.

Less is More - One Layer Challenge

Something with legs is the challenge at Less Is More this week. I love this Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous elephant stamp, I've had it a while and thought it was time to use it. I stamped it and the Hero Arts sentiment with black Archival ink. I used a Tando Creative leaf stencil to do the leaves.
This is the same as above except that the sentiment is by Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous and the Happy Birthday is by Inkadinkado.

Less is More Sketch 2

The challenge at Less Is More this week is the above sketch. I've not been able to join in with the last couple of challenges but managed to find a bit of time yesterday to do a couple of cards for this one.
The background for this card was cut with a Martha Stewart punch and the daisy stamp is a La Pashe stamp.

For this card I layered some scalloped pink card and some paper from my stash then I attached the three coloured squares. The stamps that I used are by Inkadinkado.

Less is More Pick a Square

The challenge at Less is More this week is to pick one of 5 squares, we could use one of the 4 corners or the centre. For the first card the stamp I used was going to be used last week for the butterfly challenge but I didn't have time to join in the challenge. It's by Paper Inspirations and it's one of my all time favoretes.
The background stamp is a Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous stamp and the cat is by Inkadinkado.
Another Inkadinkado stamp. I used Kaleidacolor put on with a baby wipe for the background.

The Jazz Age

This is my entry for the Less Is More challenge, the challenge this week is embossing. I stamped the background using a Marvy shades of orange blending blox ink pad and a Stampers Anonymous stamp off the psychedelic grunge set. For the main image I decided to use the lovely Hampton Art jazz stamp set that I bought at the Biggin Hill craft show last weekend. I stamped it with black pigment ink and embossed with black embossing powder, I also embossed the words.

A Touch of Red

This is my entry for the Less is More a touch of red challenge. I found it more difficult to do than I thought it would be, had a few attempts before I was more or less happy with the result. I stamped the image and words on to a white card blank and coloured part of it with a red watercolour pencil and a water brush. I added a little red gem to the flower that I've coloured.
Stamps used.
Penny Black, the main image.
Stampotique, the words.
I wasn't sure if I liked all the white card so I tried it with a red border. Not sure which one I like best.
