Last Halloween Project For This Year

I made these ATCs for a swap with my friend Hazel.

I used one of my previously made backgrounds to stamp the Magenta image on. I coloured the leaves with a Sakura pen and matted it onto black card.

I stamped some script on another ready made background.
I stamped the Stampers Anonymous images onto white card and cut them out. I stamped some dots [PaperArtsy]  on the label and edged it with vintage photo distress ink. The skull was covered with Glossy Accents.

The Age Of Aquarius

It's time for another Craft-Room Challenge and this time it's the turn of Esther to choose the theme, here's what she has to say about her choice.
This fortnight I'm asking for all things Water based as we are now in the Sign of Aquarius - The Water Bearer. This means you can either use a water based technique i.e. water colour pencils/paints, or a water themed image.

Our sponsor this challenge is Tando Creative.

For my DT piece I've made a mermaid tag. It wasn't very good lighting when I took the photo so the colours aren't as good as they should be.

For the background I swiped a Caribbean sea Kaleidacolour ink pad across my craft mat and sprayed water on it then I coloured my tag with it. When the background was dry I sprayed it with water.
I stamped the Clarity Stamp mermaid onto the tag and also onto some white card. I coloured her body with a felt tip and her tail with Sakura gelly roll pens then I cut her out and adhered her over the image on the tag.
I embossed a mixture of aged aqua and aged marine Frantage at the bottom of the tag and adhered some shells and a metal starfish charm.
I stamped the Hobby Arts sentiment onto card and adhered it to the tag.

12 Tags of 2013 - February

I was so excited when I found out that I was one of the January tag winners and still being flushed with success I thought it was time to make my February tag.
I decided to keep my tag as close to the tag that Tim made using the things that I had in my stash.
You can find Tim's February tag here.
Here is my take on the tag.

Here is a list of the things that I used.
Ripe persimmon, fired brick Distress stain.
Black soot Distress ink.
Black Archival Ink.
Watercolour pencils
Kraft core card.
QuickCutz letter and numbers die.
Art Impressions and 7Gypsies stamps.
Orange Sakura Jelly Roll pen.
Sticker from my stash.

The image was coloured with the watercolour pencils and some water.
I die cut the letters and adhered them to the Kraft core card before sanding them.
The Sakura pen was used to draw and colour the hearts at the top of the tag.

Oil Pastel Scratched Canvas

A couple of weeks ago I was watching a lady on You Tube create a scratch canvas using Sakura Cray-Pas oil pastels, I decided to have a go, so out came my oil pastels from their hiding place and this is what I made.

This is how it was done.

Start of by colouring the canvas with the oil pastels until you've got a pattern that you're happy with.

Then you cover the whole thing with black oil pastel - very messy. You then cover this with your chosen stencil, I used a Creative Expressions clock mask, then using the point of a wooden skewer scratch away the black oil pastel to reveal the colours underneath, for some reason the colours underneath don't get scratched away. I sprayed the canvas with some Americana Matt Acrylic sealer to give it a bit of protection. This is the end result.

I then embellished my canvas with some cogs, chain, charm and some letters from my stash.

Anniversary card

I used  Gecko Galz products for my card.
I started by covering a card blank with GG fresh linen background paper. I printed the GG digi image two times. I matted one image onto black card and attached it to a doily and then to the card. I coloured the edge of the doily with stormy sky Distress ink before attaching it to the card.. I coloured the butterflies on the other image with Sakura glitter pens and used a waterbrush to spread the ink, then I cut them out and attached them to the main image. I embellished the card with flowers and black gems.

Anniversary card

It was my Wedding Anniversary a couple of weeks ago and as my husband loves cute I made him a cute card.
The background paper was an insert from a birthday card earlier in the year, I thought it was a lovely colour and I love the pink flowers. I stamped the grasses and birds with black Archival ink and the branches were stamped with broken china Distress ink. The main image was stamped twice and embossed onto watercolour paper and I coloured it with Sakura pens and a waterbursh. I cut the birds out from the second image and 3D them onto the main image. I added a silver peel of along the bottom.
The stamps I've used are
PaperArtsy, the grasses and birds at the bottom and the main image.
Inkadinkado, the branches and birds at the top.

Seeing Double

This week at  LESS IS MORE they are seeing double. I couldn't enter last weeks challenge but found a bit of time to enter this weeks.
I stamped the holly and drew gold lines then stamped the stars. I coloured the stars by colouring the points with a gold pen and spreading the colour using a water brush. I then added some little red berries to the holly and gold bows to the stars.
Ingredients.
Artemio stamps for the stars.
Inkadinkado stamps for the holly and words.
Pentel, gold pen.
Sakura, red pen.
Archival ink, jet black and Olive.
Here is a cream card made exactly the same.

Chunky Alphabet Book D E and F

D for dragonfly. For the background I coloured some white card with distress inks and randomly stamped the small dragonfly[Stamp Bug]. I don't know who makes the large dragonfly but I stamped and embossed him on to some card and coloured him with Sakura pens and then spread Stickles over the wings with my finger. I stamped the sentiment[Artistic Stamper] on to some velum and attached it to the page with a couple of dragonfly brads.

E is for eyes. For the background I used a piece of card that I'd made ages ago, I think I used a mask and sprayed glimmer mist over it. I stamped the eye chart [Stampers Anonymous] to one side. I stamped the main image [Paper Artsy] on to some of the background card, triple embossed it then mounted it onto some black card. The only embellishment I used are the gold brads in the corners.
F is for family. For the background I coloured some white card with distress inks and stamped the leaves [Elusive Images] with the same coloured ink. I stamped the main image [Creative Expressions] on to some card and covered it with acetate and attached it to a metal frame. I stamped the sentiment [Creative Expressions] onto some velum and attached it with some brads. The F is a large silver brad.

Fun Swap

For this swap we were sent 2 jigsaw pieces to make something with, this is my effort.
I coloured the background with Ecogreen Crafts acrylic paints and the edges are embossed with Cosmic Shimmer UTEE. The stamps I used are Paper Artsy's Flora and Fauna set 4 stamped onto white card. I coloured the images with Sakura glittery gelly roll pens and a water brush to thin them out. I cut the images out and stuck them to the jigsaw to give a 3D effect.

May Birthday Card

I made this card in May, there's not a lot to say about it except that the stamps used are by Stampotique and the images were coloured in with Sakura pens watered down with a water brush.
