Hi everyone, I hope you're all enjoying the lovely summer weather that we're having, although it's a little chiller today it's still quite pleasant.
I have a Gothic Arch to share with you today, it's for the UK Stampers Flower Fest challenge.
I used Distress Oxides on the background and stamped the Hobby Art flowers, I also stamped the flowers onto white card, coloured them and cut them out. I arranged the paper dolls and flowers on the arch together with the Stampotique words then I stamped some circles round the edge with a Paperartsy stamp.
Thank you for visiting, enjoy the rest of the week. xxx

Go Tag Thursday - Beach Huts
I'm very pleased to be hosting this weeks challenge at Go Tag Thursday and the theme I have chosen is Beach Huts.
The challenge is fairly new and is run by Sandie, it would be lovely if you visited and entered the challenge.
I made two samples.
I coloured this tag with distress ink and dry brushed some white acrylic over it, I used a Crafty Individuals beach hut stamp on the background and added some tissue tape. The main image was stamped with a Michael Powell stamp and coloured with pencils. I coloured some gauze with distress ink and glued it to the bottom of the tag together with some white ric rac ribbon. The boat was stamped with a Crafty Secrets stamp, cut out and glued to the tag. The quote is a Hobby Art stamp.

I made two samples.
I used grey board as the base for this tag. I painted the tag with a dark turquoise acrylic paint and when it was dry I painted Weathered Wood crackle medium in lines hoping it would look like planks of wood, I painted white paint over the tag and waited for the crackles. I used a black pencil to try and make the planks of wood look like planks of wood. The door was painted with watered down paint. I coloured some gauze with distress ink and glued it to the bottom of the tag and added some shells and an anchor charm, I cut the oars out of a magazine and the Life's A Beach was made using a Crafty Individuals stamp.

Mixed Media Canvas Board
I can't believe it's September already and time for another challenge at Altered Eclectics, as always the theme is Anything Goes but it must be Mixed Media/Altered Art - no cards are allowed.
For my DT piece I've made a mixed media piece on a canvas board.
I started by covering a 8" x 8" canvas board with bits of patterned paper and giving it a light coat of gesso.
Then I added some coloured acrylic paint.
I then used some texture paste with a stencil and painted some gesso over it.
The canvas board was then coloured with Gelatos.
I stamped the leafy branch onto the board and stencilled some tiny pink circles, I also stamped some postmarks. I stamped the leafy branch, flowers and bird onto some of my Gelli prints and cut them out, I adhered them to the board, I also added some Remnent Rubs and the quote. I gave it a coating of Multi Matte Medium.
I finally added more colour to the leaves, flowers and bird with Faber-Castell Pitt pens.
The stamps I used are;
Sheena Douglas - the leafy branch, flowers and bird.
Hobby Arts - the quote.
Postmark - unknown

The Butterflies and the Bees
Hi everybody - I hope you are all well.
I thought it was time I posted something on my neglected blog.
I'm sharing with you a couple of pages that I made for the KCUK Deco Swap, my swap partners theme was Anything That Flies.
I used Brushos on the background and stencilled the mesh with Distress ink. I stamped the Jofy quote and small Stampotiqe bees. The large and medium Stampotique bees were stamped onto white card and coloured with Pitt pens, cut out and adhered to the page. I put stickles on the wings.
I coloured the background and stamped the butterflies with Distress ink and stamped some script. The large butterfly was stamped and die cut with a Stampendous stamp and die. The Quote is a Hobby Art stamp. The butterfly and quote were stamped onto card that had been coloured with Brushos.
Thank you for looking.

Deep In The Forest
Good morning, I hope you all had a lovely weekend.
I'd like to share a journal page with you today, I haven't done much journaling and am always amazed at all the wonderful pages that people do.
I've made my pages for the Art Journal Journey challenge, the theme is Deep In The Forest.
I started of by covering the pages with gesso and stamped some leaves with archival ink. Earlier in the day I collected some fallen leaves and Sycamore seeds and using lots of glue adhered them to the pages then I covered the leaves with tissue paper.
I painted the pages with lot of different green inks and some orange and red on the leaves, the leaves were given a final coat of gold Acrylic Artists Ink.
I stamped lots of animals onto tissue paper and coloured them on the back with acrylic paint and adhered them to the pages, the badger had two coats of white but some of the green ink came still came through.

The Age Of Aquarius
It's time for another Craft-Room Challenge and this time it's the turn of Esther to choose the theme, here's what she has to say about her choice.
This fortnight I'm asking for all things Water based as we are now in the Sign of Aquarius - The Water Bearer. This means you can either use a water based technique i.e. water colour pencils/paints, or a water themed image.
Our sponsor this challenge is Tando Creative.

For my DT piece I've made a mermaid tag. It wasn't very good lighting when I took the photo so the colours aren't as good as they should be.
For the background I swiped a Caribbean sea Kaleidacolour ink pad across my craft mat and sprayed water on it then I coloured my tag with it. When the background was dry I sprayed it with water.
I stamped the Clarity Stamp mermaid onto the tag and also onto some white card. I coloured her body with a felt tip and her tail with Sakura gelly roll pens then I cut her out and adhered her over the image on the tag.
I embossed a mixture of aged aqua and aged marine Frantage at the bottom of the tag and adhered some shells and a metal starfish charm.
I stamped the Hobby Arts sentiment onto card and adhered it to the tag.

Ever Inchie Monday - Wild
Wild is the theme for this weeks challenge at Every Inchie Monday, I decided to do a wild animal, I have a lovely stamp of a lions head that I was going to use on shrink plastic but I couldn't find it so I rummaged in my stamps and found this lovely Hobby Art stamp of a badger.
I used Distress ink on the background and stamped the badger onto shrink plastic with Stazon.

The words were done by putting a scrap strip of the background card through my Dymo machine and then I sponged a little black ink over the words.
The stamps that I used are.
Cherry Pie Art Stamps for the Alfred Hitchcock image.
PaperArtsy for the background grasses.
Hobby Art for the background birds.

Acrylic Block Printing
KCUK's challenge this month is to use acrylic blocks to make backgrounds.
What you do is scribble felt tip pens onto an acrylic block, spray it with water and then stamp it onto card, it gives you a nice background to stamp on.
I used very old cheap felt tips that I have from when the kids went to school. These are some of the cards that I made.

If you click on the blinkie in my sidebar it will take you to Gecko Galz then all you have to do is click on the witch to find out more about the hop.
This is my latest Gecko Galz DT piece.
To do this 8" x 8" layout I used an image from the Little Darlings Ephemera sheet and the Chalkboard Sentiment background paper.
The pink card and patterned paper is from my stash. I used a Marianne Designs die for the green flourishes
The sentiment is stamped using a Hobby Art stamp and the corner flourishes are done using a Stamp Bug stamp. The flowers and embellishments are from my stash. I think I've put two too many flowers on it.
