S Is For Sea Shore

S is the latest letter in the Craft Barns Alpha/Dictionary challenge, but there is a twist this time we  have to add a shell.

Here is my postcard.

I covered my postcard with a yellow gelli print and brayered some blue acrylic paint for the sea and sky. I stamped the pier, letter S, corner shell, seagulls and quote directly onto the postcard. The girl was stamped onto white paper, coloured with pencil and cut out before being glued to the card. I added the dictionary definition and coloured the seagulls with a white marker.
The stamps I used are
Creative Expressions - pier and seagulls.
Crafty Individuals - shell.
The Stamp Bug - quote.
Elusive Images/Chocolate Baroque - the letter S.
The girl I'm not sure about.

Have a lovely day and thank you for looking.

Heart Journal Page

Before I share today's post with you I would like to say a big hello to my new followers, lovely to have you join me.

Today I'm sharing a journal page with you, I'm linking my page to Art Journal Journey, I'm hosting the challenge this month and I've chosen the theme If Music Be The Food Of Love.

Here is my Page.

The pages in the journal that I've used are very thin so I gave the page two coats of gesso, when this was dry I coloured the page with Gelatos, spreading them with my fingers.

I used a heart stencil and a baby wipe to remove some of the colour, the word love is also a stencil.

I stamped some script on the page and stamped round the edges with a Dina Wakley heart stamp.

I splattered the page with white paint and used a white pen to put some dots round the black hearts. I stamped the two main hearts onto a book page and cut them out. The stamps I used are Elusive Images[Chocolate Baroque]. I glued the hearts to the page and added a couple of red gems.

Thank you for looking and have a lovely weekend.
xxx Hazel.

A Couple of ATCs

Good morning a everyone, I hope you all had lovely weekend, I went on a mixed media workshop yesterday and had a brilliant time. What I made isn't quite finished yet but as soon as it is I will put on my blog.

Today I'd like to share a couple of ATCs with you.

I used one of my mono prints for the background and stamped some script on it.
The Dina Wakley image was stamped and embossed and the Creative Expressions words were stamped and embossed. I went round the edge with some blue acrylic paint.

Again the background is a mono print that I adhered to some blue card. I stamped the Chocolate Baroque flower onto the background in white and also stamped it on to a book page in black. After colouring  the flower with acrylic paint I cut it out and adhered it to the ATC. I also stencilled some dots. I hand wrote the word onto a piece of scrap card.

Altered Packaging

It's time for the latest Altered Eclectic challenge. As always the theme is Anything Goes but it must be Mixed Media/Altered Art, no cards are allowed.

For my DT piece this month I decided to turn some Amazon packaging into a colourful folder.

This is the packaging I started with.

I started by covering everything with white gesso and then painted it with acrylic paint.

I then scraped some gesso over it using a credit card. I left some of the colour showing and added some shapes and lines using my finger and small brush I also used a stencil in places. I stamped some flowers [Chocolate Baroque] onto book paper and cut them out and glued them to the piece keeping some aside for later.

I then added more colour until I was pleased with the result and then I added some black script. I used a mixture of Fresco Finish, DecoArt and Reeves acrylic paint.

I painted the inside of the folder and glued down the flaps, then I added some of the spare flowers.

I decided to use a magnetic closure so I glued in the magnets and covered the magnet on the front with a flower, then I glued a couple of flowers to card so that they were more sturdy, I glued these to the front and back of the magnet on the flap.

This is the back of the folder.

This is a close up of the paintwork,

Why not pop over the the Altered Eclectic Challenge to see the fabulous pieces that the rest of DT have made.

Deep In The Forest

Good morning, I hope you all had a lovely weekend.

I'd like to share a journal page with you today, I haven't done much journaling and am always amazed at all the wonderful pages that people do.

I've made my pages for the Art Journal Journey challenge, the theme is Deep In The Forest.

I started of by covering the pages with gesso and stamped some leaves with archival ink. Earlier in the day I collected some fallen leaves and Sycamore seeds and using lots of glue adhered them to the pages then I covered the leaves with tissue paper.

This photo shows the background and the leaves covered with tissue paper

I painted the pages with lot of different green inks and some orange and red on the leaves, the leaves were given a final coat of gold Acrylic Artists Ink.
I stamped lots of animals onto tissue paper and coloured them on the back with acrylic paint and adhered them to the pages, the badger had two coats of white but some of the green ink came still came through.

I was pleased with how the leaved turned out.

Here is a list of the stamps and inks that I used.
Adirondack Colour Wash Sprays.
Dylusion Ink Sprays.
Distress Stain.
Acrylic Artists Ink.
Elusive Images/Chocolate Baroque - tree stamp.
Inkadinkado  - small leaves.
Large leaves unknown.
Hobby Art - badger, hedgehog, fox, deer and squirrel.
TJ Designs - nest.

Hip To Be Square

This months theme at the One - Layer Simplicity Challenge is Hip To Be Square and I've made my first Christmas card of the year for the challenge.

I stamped the squares and then masked them before stamping the poinsettia and colouring it with watercolour pencils.
The stamps I used are
Rubbadubbado for the squares.
Joanna Sheen for the poinsettia.
Inkadinkado for the sentiment.

This is another CAS card that I've made. I'm not very keen on this card as I stamped the image onto pearl card and I don't like pearl card very much, the image didn't stamp very clearly.

The stamp is an Elusive Images/Chocolate Baroque one and I stamped it with black soot distress ink and embossed it with clear powder. I watercoloured it with distress inks.

Watercolour Stamping

Good morning everyone, I thought it was time to start sharing some of the things that I've made over the year.
These are some cards that I made for a Watercolour Stamping Challenge at KCUK.

For the background on this card I used a JustRite stamp. I coloured the stamp with different coloured distress inks and sprayed water on it before stamping it on to the card. The image is a Judikins stamp and I used the same distress inks and water on watercolour paper as I did for the background. The sentiment is an Artistic Stamper stamp.

For this card I used a PaperArtsy stamp. I coloured the stamp with distress ink and sprayed with water then stamped the image two or three times on watercolour paper before inking it again. The sentiment is a PaperArtsy stamp.

For the background I used distress ink again but sprayed the watercolour paper with water before stamping. For the image I coloured the stamp with distress ink and sprayed water on it before stamping.
The background stamp is an Elusive Images/Chocolate Baroque stamp.
I'm not sure who made the image stamp.

It's time again for another Craft-Room Challenge and it's the turn of the lovely Mervi to choose the theme and she has chosen Wedding/Anniversary.

Our sponsor for the challenge is The Stamp Man.

                                 The Stamp Man

For my DT piece I've made an Anniversary card.

I used ripe persimmon Distress reinker with water for the background and stamped some poppies in the top right hand corner. I added a strip of striped paper from the Prima Time Traveller paper set. The ribbon is a strip of white material that I dyed with the ripe persimmon reinker and I added some gold thread. I stamped and embossed the image and coloured it with watercolour pencils. I used a peel off for the sentiment.
The stamp I used for the main image is Indigo Blu poppy heart and the stamps on the background are Elusive Images/Chocolate Baroque stamps.

Bird Deco Pages

I'd like to share with you the two deco pages that I made for Wendy in the KCUK deco book swap - Wendy's theme is birds.

I used a mono print for the background and stamped the flying birds and some twigs, for the cockerel I used Distress ink with a Dreamweaver stencil. I stamped the main image onto coloured card and again onto white card, then I coloured the birds on the white card with coloured pencil, I then cut them out and adhered them to the main image. The image was then matted onto black card and then adhered to the background.
Stamps used,
Crafty Individuals for the main image.
Stampers Anonymous for the flying birds.
Inkadinkado for the twigs.
Sentiment - unknown.

Again I used a mono print for the background and stamped the feathers. I stamped the peacock onto white card and coloured it with watercolour pencils then cut it out and adhered it to the background.

I'd like to share with you some ATCs that I've made for the Paperplay ATC swap.

The ATCs were made with Gelli backgrounds and I stamped some script [PaperArtsy] with Brilliance moonlight white. I stamped the faces [La Blanche stamps] onto tissue paper and used white ink on the back before adhering them to the ATCs, I then went round the edges with some guilding flakes. Bird Tag

I'd like to share with you today the second tag that I made for the Paperplay January tag swap.

I used one of my Gelli prints for the background and stamped the flying birds [Stampers Anonymous], the bird flourish [Chocolate Baroque] and the birdcage [Kaisercraft]. I put black soot Distress ink round the edge. I used the Sizzix Alterations bird branch die for the die cut, I coloured it with walnut stain and then cut the bird of the branch, this was so that I could stand the branch upright, I covered the bird with orange stickles and adhered it to the tag, then I added the sentiment [Creative Expressions].

Wings ATCs

The theme for PaperPlays January ATC swap is Wings.
Here are the ATCs that I made for the swap.

I used Grunge Paste and a Finnabair stencil on my painted ATC, when the grunge paste was dry I went over the embossed area with some emerald Treasure Gold.
I stamped the Stampotique large bee onto white card, cut out the wing section and covered them with some stickles.
I punched out the head of a Stampotique image with a circle punch and adhered it to the inside of a bottle cap, then I covered it with Glossy Accents. I adhered the bottle cap and wings to my ATC and added the Creative Expressions sentiment.
I'm entering this ATC in the Stampotique Designers Challenge Winged Things.

I coloured some card with Distress ink directly to the card and stamped the Stampers Anonymous birds then I embossed it with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I went over the raised areas with some Treasure Gold.
I adhered some sticky backed aluminium to some card and stamped the Chocolate Baroque bird onto it with Stazon. I embossed some of the pattern and then cut it out. I covered the bird with black acrylic paint and then wiped most of it away. I adhered the bird onto the card.

The background was coloured with Distress ink. I stamped the Stampotique large bee onto the ATC and onto some white card.
I used a stencil to make the pattern and then stamped the Stampotique tiny bees.
I went round the edges with black soot using my finger.
I coloured the bee that was stamped onto white card and cut it out, then I covered the wings with stickles, then I adhered it over the image on the ATC cutting of the bits that hung over the edge of the ATC.
