KCUK Deco Pages - Spring Flowers

Good Morning, I hope you are all having a lovely weekend, after yesterdays beautiful sunshine we have rain today and it looks like it's not going to stop.

I'd like to share with you a couple of pages that I made for the KCUK deco swap.

I stamped the background with an Impression Obsession stamp and Distress ink. I then stamped the PaperArtsy/Jofy flowers onto the page and onto white scrap card. I used Inktense pencils to colour the flowers and stems then I cut the flowers out and glued them to the page and added some dew drops. I then stamped the Hobby Arts quote directly to the page and drew lines round the sides.

I coloured the background with Distress ink and stamped the Joanna Sheen lily of the valley stamp with Archival ink. I stamped the main image [ I think it's a Hero Arts stamp ] onto white card with Archival ink I cut the image out and added some ribbon and die cuts.

Hip To Be Square

This months theme at the One - Layer Simplicity Challenge is Hip To Be Square and I've made my first Christmas card of the year for the challenge.

I stamped the squares and then masked them before stamping the poinsettia and colouring it with watercolour pencils.
The stamps I used are
Rubbadubbado for the squares.
Joanna Sheen for the poinsettia.
Inkadinkado for the sentiment.

This is another CAS card that I've made. I'm not very keen on this card as I stamped the image onto pearl card and I don't like pearl card very much, the image didn't stamp very clearly.

The stamp is an Elusive Images/Chocolate Baroque one and I stamped it with black soot distress ink and embossed it with clear powder. I watercoloured it with distress inks.

In The Library

It's time for another Craft Room Challenge, the theme is In The Library and it has been chosen by the lovely Debi. Here is why she has chosen the theme and what she would like you to create.

I love books, if I'm not in my studio I've got my head in a book, so for my theme I've chosen, In the Library. I want to see books, stamps of books, mini books, altered books, pages from books, text, script .... I think you've probably got the idea?

Our sponsors for the challenge are  Rogue Redhead Designs .

Rogue Redhead Designs specializes in vintage, eclectic
and modern stamp designs. Pressed into quality red rubber, these highly detailed images are sure to impress.

I have an old book of birds so I photocopied a couple of pages and I'm sorry to say that I didn't draw the birds but used some Joanna Sheen bird stamps. I love these stamps but they don't get used very often.

The Kingfisher

I used a watercolour pad and watercolour pencils.

The Swallow

The rest of the DT have made some wonderful samples so why not visit the Craft Room Challenge to take a look.

Less Is More   are feeling fruity this week. This is the card that I've made for the challenge.
I used my Cricut Expression to cut out the fancy edged piece of white card then stamped the recipe on it, then I coloured the image with Promarkers. The stamp is a Joanna Sheen stamp. I matted the image on to some red paper from my stash, the green paper is also from my stash. The little happy birthday is by Inkadinkado.

Craft-Room Challenge 3

Thank you everybody that entered our altered doll challenge - all the dolls were fabulous.
This time it's Mervi's turn to choose the theme and she has chosen SUMMER BIRTHDAYS. I hope you'll all enter but don't forget to be eligible for the prize draw you must put the Craft-Room logo in your side bar with a link to the shop.
I've always loved Sweet Peas and my mind goes back to when I was a child - my dad grew them every Summer and he would give me some seeds to plant in my little bit of garden. Their scent is glorious.
I've had this Joanna Sheen stamp for a while and never used it so I decided it was time to take it out of it's packet. I started of with a white card blank and stamped the sweet peas down the right hand side of the card leaving them black and white, then I coloured the edges of the card with Distress Ink. I then stamped the sweet peas and plant pot on to some white card and coloured them with watercolour pencils and a water brush. I then coloured the edges with Distress Ink and then distressed the edges with a distressing tool before attaching it to the card. I'd stamped some butterflies and coloured them with watercolour pencil then cut them out and attached them to the card and I lastly added a bit of ribbon.

Where Did You Get That Hat?

I made this tag for the April Oh La La challenge over on Bella Creations. Gecko Galz provided the image that we had to use. The background paper is by Joanna Sheen. I went round the edge with dusty concorde Distress ink. The image is matted onto some pink card edged with Distress ink. I added some gems to her hat and gave it some feathers. I used flourishes, gems, ribbon and a flower to embellish the tag.

Chunky Alphabet Book S T and U

Here are my STand U pages for the Chunky Alphabet Book swap over on KCUK.
S is for strawberry.
I coloured the background with distress ink and then stamped some strawberries over it with the same colour. I stamped the main image onto cream card and coloured the edges with distress ink and coloured the image with Promarkers. The large strawberry was stamped and coloured with Promarkers, the two smaller strawberries were cut out of some patterned paper. I double embossed the strawberries with clear embossing powder before attaching to the page.
T is for tea party.
The background paper is from my stash. I stamped the main image onto white card then masked it of before colouring with broken china Distress Ink then I went round the edges with weathered wood. I removed the mask and left the image white then I matted it onto some pink card. I attached part of a book page to the background then attached the main image. The cup and saucer were stamped onto white card and coloured with Promarkers the letter T is a rub on. Last but not least I added a silver teapot charm to the image.
U is for umbrella.
The page is coloured with broken china and weathered wood Distress Ink and I used my finger to go round the edge with rusty hinge. I stamped the image with dried marigold onto the background then stamped it onto white card with black ink and coloured it with dried marigold, then I cut it out and attached it to the card. I stamped the image twice again and cut the umbrellas out, two were left black and white and I coloured the other two with Promarkers. I attached them to the page together with a torn piece of a dictionary and some raindrop and splat stickers from my stash.

Stamps used.
Craft Stamper free stamp, background strawberry and teacup and saucer.
Joanna Sheen, strawberry recipe.
Personal Impressions, strawberry.
Lost Coast Designs, tea party.
Magenta, umbrellas.

Chunky Alphabet Book M N and O

M is for music.
The background is a piece of card that I embossed with a Tim Holtz Alterations embossing folder, I coloured it with distress ink. I'm not sure who made the stamps that I used but I stamped the main image onto white card and on to a post it note. I cut out the image on the post it note to use as a mask on the image on the white card. I coloured the card with distress inks and then removed the mask. The other bits that I used are an alphabet brad and a metal flower with a jewel in its centre.
N is for Nefertiti.
I used a baby wipe to colour the background with Marvy Blending Blox ink. The pyramids are made by cutting a triangle shape out of some Cut-n-Dry foam and using it as a stamp. Again I'm not sure who made the stamps that I used, but I stamped the main image and name onto some turquoise card, then I cut them out and stuck them onto some black card, then I cut round the image to leave a black border. I stamped a few beetles along the bottom of the card and then attached the image and name and a few nail heads.
O is for owl.
I coloured the background with distress inks, before I did this I made a mask for the moon so that it would stay white then I stamped over the moon with a Clarity Stamps moon and cloud stamp, then I stamped a little owl silhouette. I added trees [Crafty Individuals] along the bottom. The main owl image is by Joanna Sheen, I stamped this onto some white card and coloured it by using a water brush and some distress ink. I then attached it to the background with some sticky foam.
