A Couple Of Anniversary Cards

Happy Sunday everyone.
Today I’m sharing a couple of anniversary cards that I made earlier in the year.

For the first card I painted the hearts with watercolour, splattered some gold paint and wrote the sentiment.

For this card I splattered some pink and gold paint onto a piece of handmade paper, I adhered some different fabrics to some hessian and adhered it to the card. I added the Tim Holtz paper doll image and the sentiment that I’d stamped onto fabric.

Thank you for visiting, you’re all very welcome. xxx

SPA - Texture

Texture is this weeks theme for the Sunday Postcard Art  challenge.

I used a stencil with some texture paste on the background and coloured it with watered Scribble Sticks, I let it dry and built up layers of colour drying each layer before adding more colour. I painted some tissue paper with white acrylic paint, when the paint was dry I stamped some Stampendous flowers on the side with no paint. I tore round the images and adhered them to the card. I coloured the flowers with Pitt pens and coloured pencils. I added some tissue tape for the Tim Holtz paper doll to stand on, I coloured her dress with pencil. I also splattered the card with silver paint, I’m glad it doesn’t show up on the photo as it looks like snow and I don’t like it,

Thank you for dropping by to take a look, have a lovely week. xxx

Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone, I hope you’re all having a lovely weekend.

Not a lot of crafting or blogging being done at the moment but I managed to make a simple Easter card using a stencilled background that I made awhile ago, a Gecko Galz digital image and a Tim Holtz die cut that I’d covered with stickles.

Thank you for visiting to take a look, have a lovely Sunday. xxx

Your’e a Star

Good morning everyone. Geometric shapes is the theme chosen by Alison at Art Journal Journey

I would also like to enter my page in the Moo Mania And More challenge Cold and Frosty Colours.

The background was a mop up page in my journal. I stamped some stars with metalic glaze on the background but they don't show up very well. I stamped some larger stars [Carabelle Studio] and doodled on them with white pen. I adhered a Tim Holtz paper doll to a large star that I'd cut out of previously coloured card. I drew zig zag lines round the page to frame the image and coloured it with a silver Posca pen. The photo below shows the silver star sequins that I'd adhered to the page.

Thank you for dropping by, have a lovely weekend. xxx

Art Journal Page

Good morning everybody. It's time for a new challenge at Altered Eclectics, as always the theme is Mixed Media/Altered Art.

I've done an art journal page for my DT piece.

I started by adding some colour to the page using watered down Dylusions ink, then I added some torn strips of washi tape, strips of book pages, a bit more colour and then I added some stamped script. I scribbled a circle on the corner and scribbled some writing round it. I die cut the circle using an Elizabeth entwined circle die and embossed it with some Frantage embossing enamel, the butterfly was made using a Sizzix stamp and die. I added a pen nib for the body and some stickles on the wings, the words are a Tim Holtz sticker.

Thank you for dropping by to take a look, have a lovely day. xxx

Trick or Treat Art Journal Page

Good morning everyone, today I'm very happy to be a guest designer for Try It On Tuesday, the theme for their latest challenge is Trick Or Treat/Halloween.

I've made an art journal page.

I covered a page in my Dina Wakley journal with a sheet of Gecko Galz background paper and then I  painted the edges with white paint. I printed a mixture of Gecko Galz and Mischief Circus images, cut them out and adhered them to the page, I added a little colour to some of the images with coloured pencils. The red moon's made of tissue paper. I used a Sizzix die for the crow and branch, for the cat and flying witch I used Cherry Pie Art stamps, the spider and cobweb are Inkadinkado stamps and the sentiment is a Tim Holtz stamp, I wrote Trick Or Treat on the roof. The image with the horns was just a head and shoulders so I used a silver Gelato to make him look like he had a ghostly body.

Thank you for dropping by to take a look, why not pop over to Try It On Tuesday to see the inspirational pieces that the design team have made. xxx

Sunny Landscapes

Were having a new boiler fitted today and the front door is wide open and I'm freezing, so I decided to share one of the pages that I made for the Art Journal Summer School 2018, the guest teacher was Marlene Meijer-Van Niekerk, I loved this lesson and I'm hoping that thinking of the sunny landscape will warm me up a little.

I'm entering my page into the Art Journal Journey  Creature Comforts challenge chosen by Linda, being warm to me is defiantly a creature comfort.

For the fields I adhered some patterned paper to the page, and the rest of the background was coloured with Decoart acrylic paint. I used acrylic paint and Neocolour 2 to colour the colourful striped field, this is to represent fields of tulips growing. For the houses I used Paperartsy stamps, I used a Finnabair stamp on some gold card for the circle. The sun is stencilled with a Tim Holtz stencil and acrylic paint, the flowers were stencilled with black acrylic paint. I used a Dina Wakley stamp for the trees at the bottom.

Well I haven't warmed up but Iv'e enjoyed looking at my sunny page. Thank you for dropping by to take a look, you're all very welcome. xxx

I'd like to enter it in Elizabeth's Count Your Blessings challenge at Art Journal Journey I think butterflies and bugs are a blessing, there seems to have been a lot of butterflies this year and it's been lovely sitting in the garden watching them and the bugs going about their business.

I used acrylic paint on the background using my finger and brushes to apply the paint, I added some scribbling, I stamped the Tim Holtz bugs with black Archival ink and I stapled the lovely Gecko Galz butterfly image to some card and adhered it to the page. I added some frayed material, a word sticker and some remnant rubs.

Journal Page

It's August already so it's time for a new challenge at Altered Eclectics, as always the theme is Anything Goes as long as it's Altered Art/Mixed Media.
For my DT piece I've made a journal page.

I used a palette knife to spread some gesso onto some kraft card, when it was dry I went over the page with a vintage photo distress oxide ink pad and sprayed it with water.  I used Aall&Create stamps with black archival ink to stamp on the background. I stamped the Tim Holtz flower onto white card, coloured it with pencils and cut it out. I adhered a strip of fabric to the page and added the flower stapling the stem to the page. I added some remnant rubs and word stickers.

Thank you for visiting, have a lovely day. x

SPA - Birdhouses

Birdhouses are the theme for this weeks Sunday Postcard Art challenge.

I had a look through my stamps to see if I had a birdhouse one and the only one I could find was a small silhouette so I looked through some magazines and found this image of a birdhouse made of books. I cut it out and adhered it to a background that had been stencilled with brushos. I didn't do much to the image just added some pen marks and words. The robin was part of a paper napkin. The flying birds were stamped with a Tim Holtz stamp.

Thank you for taking the time to take a look. xxx

Gothic Arch - Stitches

Good afternoon everybody.
Today I'm sharing with you a Gothic Arch that I've made for the UK Stampers challenge, the theme is Stitches.

I used a patterned paper for the background and added some gesso and acrylic paint with my finger, I kept the paint thin so that the paper pattern showed through in places. I stamped the Aall & Create scissors and sewing machine with black Archival ink. The main image was stamped with a Tim Holtz stamp onto white card, I edged it with distress ink and coloured one of the images with pencil. A few weeks ago I got my sewing machine out to practise some stitches, I added some of my stitched samples together with some buttons to the arch. I added some doodles stitches round the edge.

Thank you for visiting. xxx

Collage Journal Page

I can’t believe that it’s June already and time for another Altered Eclectics challenge, as always the theme is Anything Goes as long as your work is mixed media/altered art, no cards or ATCs are allowed.

I started by adhering strips of patterned, music and a book page that I’d stamped some Tim Holtz bugs on to the page, then I applied gesso and acrylic paint. Paper napkins were then adhered to two corners of the page and I stamped some script. The two main images were torn out of a magazine, I distressed the edges and adhered them to the page. The last thing I did was to add some remnant rubs, word stickers and edge the page with black soot distress ink.

Thank you for taking a look, have a lovely day. xxx Hazel.

SPA - Secret Garden

Hi everyone, today I'm sharing the postcard that I've made for the Sunday Postcard Art challenge, the theme is Secret Garden.

I glued a piece of napkin to my postcard and added a Tim Holtz paper doll - I added a bit of colour to the image. I took a photo of the card and put it onto my computer so that I could finish it digitally. I used Serif Craft Artist and images from a couple of digi kits. The quote from one of my favourite books the Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett.

This is the card before I put it on my computer.

Thank you for visiting, have a lovely Sunday. xxx Hazel.
