SPA - Springtime

Happy Easter everyone, I hope you are all having a good weekend.

Today I'm hosting the Sunday Postcard Art challenge and the theme I have chosen is Springtime.

I used acrylic paint to colour the background and added a piece of tissue tape.
I die cut and stamped the bird and flowers with some Stampendous dies and stamps, I coloured them with pencil and glued them to the postcard, the word sing is a PaperArtsy stamp.

If You Go Down To The Woods

If You Go Down To The Woods is the latest challenge theme at Art Journal Journey chosen by Chris.
I'm also sharing it with the Try It On Tuesday - Nature challenge.

A couple of weeks ago while I was walking the dogs I saw a green woodpecker fly into a tree, I always take my camera out with me and I managed to get a photo before it flew away, so the green woodpecker is the subject of my spread.

I drew the birds and tree and coloured them with pencils and marker pens, I copied the birds out of a book. I water coloured the background using Inktense pencils and stamped some foliage [PaperArtsy] with Versa Magic ink. I went round the leaves with a black marker and added my photo of the woodpecker, it was printed on white copy paper - shame a branch is covering her face. I must admit that I'm very pleased with the result.

Thank you for looking.

R Is For Raven

The latest letter for the Craft Barns Alpha/Dictionary challenge is R. I've gone for the word raven.
Here is my postcard.

It was a very simple postcard, I used one of my gelli prints for the background and stamped the Stampendous image onto white copy paper and tore round it before sticking it to my postcard. I added the dictionary meaning and the letter R, then I doodled round the edges.

Thank you for looking and have a good weekend.

Birch Woods

Chris has chosen the theme If You Go Down To The Woods for this months challenge at Art Journal Journey.

This is my entry, I used acrylic paint and a black marker on watercolour paper.

I was going to put in some animals but decided to leave it just as a wood so that I can play with it digitally - that is if I can remember how to use my Serif Craft Artist programme.

Thank you for looking.

Spring Watercolour

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I'd like to share a watercolour page with you. I used watercolour paper and PaperArtsy stamps.

I'm entering my project in The Artistic Stamper Springtime challenge.

I started by painting the background with watercolours.

I stamped some background flowers by colouring the stamps with Pitt pens and then I stamped the main flowers and butterfly with Versamark ink and heat embossed them with white powder.

The images were coloured with Inktense pencils and a water brush, then I went round the outlines of the embossed images with a fine black marker pen.

Below are some close up photos.

I matted the page onto black card.

SPA - Mad As A March Hare

Happy Mothers Day.

Mad As A March Hare is this weeks Sunday Postcard Art Challenge.

The background is patterned paper that was free in a magazine, I stamped some swirls, dots and some script. I found the image on the internet, I printed it, cut it out and glued it to my postcard. I covered the whole postcard with matte medium, let it dry and used a pitt pen to shade round the image and quote. The quote is from Alice In Wonderland. I used PaperArtsy stamps for the background.

Thank you for looking, have a lovely Sunday.

L is for Laugh

The latest letter for the Craft Barns Alpha/Dictionary challenge is L.

For my postcard I've used one of my favourite stamps that I've had for years, I can never remember the make of the stamp.

The background is a Gelli print, I stamped the image onto white card and matted it onto black card. I doodled round the edge.

Thank you for looking.

SPA - Coca - Cola

Coca - Cola is this weeks theme for the Sunday Postcard Art challenge.

The main image and bottles at the top of the card are Gecko Galz images that I printed. I covered my postcard with red and white spotty paper and dry brushed some white and green acrylic paint over it, then I glued the images to it.
