Chunky Alphabet Book V W and X

Here are my VW and X pages for the chunky alphabet book swap over at KCUK.
V is for voyage.
I used distress ink to colour the page and the stamps I used are by Crafty Individuals.
W is for wine.
I coloured the page with wild honey and vintage photo distress ink and used fired brick for the bottle stains and to colour the wine bottle. The rest of the stamped images have been stamped with Archival black and coffee. All the stamps that I used are by Creative Expressions.
X is for X-rated.
Well, this is the hardest letter done, I found it difficult to find something for X but since coming up with this idea I've thought of some more that I hope I'll remember the next time I do an alphabet swap.
The page has been coloured with dusty concord distress ink and I stamped the images with it as well. The stamp I used is an Anita's stamp. The main image is part of the cover of a Mills and Boon paperback that I found in a charity shop. I was going to leave the title of the book of but then decided to use it. I did start to read it but only managed about 4 pages, apologies to all you Mills and Boon fans out there, it isn't my sort of thing.

Grungy Monday 4

The theme for this weeks Grungy Monday challenge over at Studio L3 is Texture Fades and Distress. You can see Tim Holtz demonstrating it here. I'm also going to enter it for the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge, their theme this week is to show a Lord Tim Of Holtz technique.
I started by spreading some mustard seed and worn lipstick Distress ink over a postcard texture fade and then embossed some cream card with it.Then I went over the embossing with some vintage photo Distress ink. I coloured some card with mustard seed, worn lipstick, tumbled glass and vintage photo Distress ink and stamped the images. After cutting the images out I attached them to the card together with a mini postcard from my stash and a metal tag.
The stamps I used are
Clarity Stamps, the Eiffel Tower.
Stampers Anonymous, the car and words.
Invoke Arts for the rest of the images.

Yellow and Blue Alice

This is my first entry to the Altered Alice  monthly challenge, the theme for this month is blue and yellow and it's being sponsored by Artistic Outpost.
I started by stencilling some flowers onto some card. I used mustard seed Distress ink and a stencil that was free in Simply Homemade, then I went round the edge of the card with faded jeans Distress ink. I coloured all the stamped images with Promarkers except for the clock, I coloured that with Distress ink. The clock is hanging from a Tim Holtz Sizzix Alterations hanging sign die cut that I'd coloured with blue Promarker. I used a couple of brads to attached the clock. Before attaching the cut out images I attached a piece of a page from an old Alice book. I also tore out the first verse of Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee's poem and attached it
to their image. I added a piece of ribbon to the bottom of the hanging.
The stamps that I've used are
Non Sequitur, Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee, the Rabbit and clock.
The Cherry Pie Art Stamps, Cheshire Cat and Alice.

Grungy Monday 3

I made this tag for the Grungy Monday challenge over at Studio L3. This week we had to use Tim Holtz Adirondack color wash. The colours I used are Butterscotch and Cranberry.
I sprayed some card with the colour wash and cut a tag shape when it had dried. The stamps I used are Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Papillon. I love this set of stamps. I stamped the word background onto the tag with dusty concord distress ink then I went round the edge with the same ink. I stamped the butterflies onto card with raspberry Adirondack brights then I distressed the edge and coloured it with the dusty concord.I tied a piece of gold cord round the butterflies and then attached it to the tag. I added a gold butterfly, some sari ribbon and gold cord.

Less is More

I've made this card for the Less is More challenge. This week the sentiment has to be the focus.
The stamp I've used is The Secret Garden by B Line Designs. I coloured the flowers with watercolour pencils and a water brush, then I embossed the front of the card with a Cuttlebug folder and added a ribbon.

Altered Notebook

I did this for theVoila Ink group Challenge over on Bella Creations. The theme is umbrellas. I am also entering it for the Simon Says stamp and show some distressing challenge.
I decided to alter the front of one of those long thin shopping list notebooks. I started off by covering the cover with a piece of card to make it a bit stronger. I used the colours lake and sunflower Eco Green acrylic paint to colour the front of the pad. I stamped some circles and blobs with distress ink and stamped the small umbrella man with black archival  ink. Then I inked the edge with my finger and black soot distress ink. The distress ink looks quite pale, I think the acrylic paint soaks it up a bit. The Sizzix Alterations die of the umbrella man is one of the goodies that I bought at Alexander Palace on Saturday. I used card to die cut him and coloured him with the lake acrylic paint. Then I used distress ink to stamp circles and blobs, then using my finger I went round the edge of him with black soot. I attached him to the notebook then I attached some words cut from some adage tickets.
The stamps I used are all from the Stampers Anonymous apart from a flourish that is made by the Stamp Bug.
The Distress ink colours that I used are stormy sky, vintage photo, and black soot.

Where Did You Get That Hat?

I made this tag for the April Oh La La challenge over on Bella Creations. Gecko Galz provided the image that we had to use. The background paper is by Joanna Sheen. I went round the edge with dusty concorde Distress ink. The image is matted onto some pink card edged with Distress ink. I added some gems to her hat and gave it some feathers. I used flourishes, gems, ribbon and a flower to embellish the tag.

Deco Pages

These are the two deco pages that I made for Dot over at KCUK. The theme for her deco is Asian in black red and gold. The little butterflies are by Hero Arts and the bamboo is by PSX, I don't know who made the other stamps. I stamped the main images onto white card and coloured them with a red watercolour pencil and a water brush. I also used a gold pen on certain parts. The kite flying picture is from a kit I bought years ago.

Grungy Monday No 2

I made this hanging for the Grungy Monday No 2 challenge over at Studio L3. The challenge was to use Studio Multi Medium as a resist. You can see the technique here at Ranger
I started of with a 5"x5" piece of mountboard and I covered it with a page from a book. I didn't have any foam to make a stamp so I used a grungeboard cotton reel and button die cut from the sewing room Sizzix Alterations die, I used the die cuts later as embellishments. I coloured the hanging with various Distress inks, added some material and lace at the bottom, the die cut dress form from the Alterations die down one side and some tape measure ribbon down the other side, then added other bits and bobs. I don't know who makes the word stamp that I used on the dress form, but the other stamped images are by Crafty Secrets.
The Distress inks that I used are dusty concord, shabby shutters, dried marigold, mustard seed, milled lavender and rusty hinge.
I'm also entering this in the Simon Says  stamp and show anything but a card challenge.

A Touch of Red

This is my entry for the Less is More a touch of red challenge. I found it more difficult to do than I thought it would be, had a few attempts before I was more or less happy with the result. I stamped the image and words on to a white card blank and coloured part of it with a red watercolour pencil and a water brush. I added a little red gem to the flower that I've coloured.
Stamps used.
Penny Black, the main image.
Stampotique, the words.
I wasn't sure if I liked all the white card so I tried it with a red border. Not sure which one I like best.

Mini Alice Hanging

I made this for a mini hanging swap over on UK Stampers.
I started with a 3"x3" piece of mountboard, then I found a page with the Cheshire Cat on in an old Alice book and stuck it to the mountboard. I dabbed on Viva Ferro over the leaves and when it dried I dabbed on various colours of Viva Gold. I stamped the cat and Alice onto white card, coloured them with Promarkers, cut them out and double embossed them with clear embossing powder before attaching to the hanging. The white rabbit and Tweedledum and Tweedledee were stamped onto shrink plastic and coloured with coloured pencil. After I cut them out I put a hole in so that I could hang them from the wire.
The stamps that I used are
Cherry Pie Art Stamps, Alice and the rabbit.
Non Sequitur, Tweedledum and Tweedledee.
I'm not sure who made the Cheshire Cat.
