Sunday Postcard Art - Fish

Good morning everyone, I hope you're having a good weekend.

Fish is the theme for today's Sunday Postcard Art challenge.

Here is my postcard.

I stamped the main image onto one of my Gelli prints, then I masked it of and stamped the fish. I masked the fish and stamped the bubbles. When I removed the masks I coloured the main image and fish with Pitt pens. I wrote the words and adhered them to the postcard.

The stamps I used are
PaperArtsy - main image and fish.
Creative Expressions - the bubbles.

Thank you for looking.

Butterfly Journal Page

Last week my friend Alison came to play, we had a great day playing with our Gelli Plates and we both ended up with loads of lovely prints.

I've used one of them on my journal page.

My print wasn't big enough to cover the pages so I painted the edge of the pages with Acrylic paint, tore round the print and glued it to the pages. I used Kaisercraft, Inkadinkado and Stampendous stamps on the background and I used Versamagic chalk ink. The butterflies [Stampendous stamp and cutting dies] were stamped onto cream card, cut out and glued to the pages with Mod Podge, I also spread the Mod Podge over the butterflies so that I could colour them with Faber Castell Pitt artist pens. Spreading the glue over the images and letting it dry meant that I could colour with the pens and spread the ink with my finger before it dried. I uesd an Artistic Stamper stamp for the quote.

I'm sharing my pages with Art Journal Journey their theme this month is Time.

Thank you for looking.

August Calendar - Pink and Butterflies

My August calendar page for the Craft Barns calendar challenge is a bit grungier than my other pages.

I enlarged a photo of a hydrangea from my garden and printed it onto copy paper. I tore round the flower head and adhered it to the page. I then stencilled some modelling past with a Dreamweaver stencil and when the paste had dried I gave the page a light coat of gesso.

I sprayed the page with water and added some Dylusions ink.

I went round the edges with picked raspberry distress ink and stamped some butterflies and letters. I stamped and die cut the large butterfly and added it and the calendar to the page.

I used Stampers Anonymous stamps for the background letters and butterflies, for the large butterfly I used a Stampendous stamp and die.

Thank you for looking.

Time Flies Journal Page

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a good weekend,

It's Art Journal Monday over at Mixed Media Mojo and it's my turn to share a project.

I'm also sharing my journal page with Art Journal Journey, this months theme is Time.

I started by stencilling some clocks with modelling paste and when it had dried I painted the page with gesso.

I then painted the page with blue acrylic paint and dribbled some Dylusions ink.

I added some other colours with Gelatos and stamped some script with a Creative Expressions stamp. I stamped the buildings [Sheena Douglas stamp] onto patterned paper, cut it out and glued it to the bottom of the page.

I stamped the winged clocks [unknown stamp] onto patterned paper and cut them out and added the Time Flies. I added a clock charm to the larger winged clock.

I used some Pitt Artist Pens to add some more colour.

Thank you for looking - have a good day.

The Butterflies and the Bees

Hi everybody - I hope you are all well.

I thought it was time I posted something on my neglected blog.

I'm sharing with you a couple of pages that I made for the KCUK Deco Swap, my swap partners theme was Anything That Flies.

I used Brushos on the background and stencilled the mesh with Distress ink. I stamped the Jofy quote and small Stampotiqe bees. The large and medium Stampotique bees were stamped onto white card and coloured with Pitt pens, cut out and adhered to the page. I put stickles on the wings.

I coloured the background and stamped the butterflies with Distress ink and stamped some script. The large butterfly was stamped and die cut with a Stampendous stamp and die. The Quote is a Hobby Art stamp. The butterfly and quote were stamped onto card that had been coloured with Brushos.

Thank you for looking.

Butterfly Canvas

The theme for the August Challenge over at Mixed Media Mojo is Anything Goes.

For my DT piece I made a Butterfly Canvas.

I started by sprinkling Brushos onto the canvas and spraying with water.

I then covered the canvas with tissue wrap and painted it with clear gesso.

Then I stencilled some DecoArt Media Modelling paste, let it dry and painted it with white gesso.

I then coloured it with Gelatos and sprayed water, when it had dried I stamped some script and splattered with white paint.

For the large butterflies I used a Stampendous stamp and cutting dies, for the small butterfly I used a Martha Stuart punch and stamp. For the quote I used a stamp by The Artistic Stamper.

My DT teamies would love you to visit Mixed Media Mojo to have a look at their fabulous makes.

Altered Book Pages

It's the first of the month so it's time for a new challenge at Altered Eclectics, as always the theme is Anything Goes as long as it's mixed media/altered art - no cards allowed.

For my DT piece I've altered some book pages. I've been wanting to do some page folding for a long time so I found a pattern on the Internet and found a book the size I needed. It was a lot easier to do than I thought it would be and didn't take very long.

I decided to keep the cover simple, I covered the spine with some crumpled tissue paper, painted it black and when it was dried I spread some Treasure Brass over the raised areas. I covered the front and back with some patterned paper that I'd stamped with some butterflies and postmark stamps
.

I used a Stampendous stamp for the butterfly and a PaperArtsy stamp for the postmark,

The rest of my DT teamies have made some lovely inspirational pieces so why not pop over to Altered Eclectics to take a look.
