Butterfly Journal Page

Last week my friend Alison came to play, we had a great day playing with our Gelli Plates and we both ended up with loads of lovely prints.

I've used one of them on my journal page.

My print wasn't big enough to cover the pages so I painted the edge of the pages with Acrylic paint, tore round the print and glued it to the pages. I used Kaisercraft, Inkadinkado and Stampendous stamps on the background and I used Versamagic chalk ink. The butterflies [Stampendous stamp and cutting dies] were stamped onto cream card, cut out and glued to the pages with Mod Podge, I also spread the Mod Podge over the butterflies so that I could colour them with Faber Castell Pitt artist pens. Spreading the glue over the images and letting it dry meant that I could colour with the pens and spread the ink with my finger before it dried. I uesd an Artistic Stamper stamp for the quote.

I'm sharing my pages with Art Journal Journey their theme this month is Time.

Thank you for looking.
xxx Hazel.

  9. Great journal spread! I've been pausing with my garden work to enjoy the buzzing of the bees, the songs of the birds and the fluttering of the moths and butterflies.

  10. So many interesting techniques here! Your gelli background is great and I love the way you have torn the edges and framed it, that's so effective. I'm also interested in the Mod Podge and artist pens idea.
Your butterflies and the whole piece look terrific.
