The Documented Life Project

A couple of weeks ago I joined the Documented Life Project on Facebook, we're given a challenge each week but as I've only just started I've got a lot of catching up to do. I spent last weekend decorating the covers of my journal. This is the result.

I really enjoyed decorating the cover and am looking forward to starting inside.
I used Dylusion sprays and acrylic paint and doodled everything except for the flowers and script. I used Claudine Hellmuth's Studio Creative Layers Stamp for the flowers.

More Mono Printing With An Acrylic Block

I'd like to share with you another project that I've made for the Craft Stampers Take It Make It Challenge. You can find Trish Latimers tutorial in the April issue of the Craft Stamper.

This time I've made a card.

I stamped some leaves with an Inkadinkado stamp onto my mono print, I tore it into three pieces and adhered them to a Kraft card blank. I wrapped some twine round the card, made a bow and adhered a metal leaf. I used a PaperArtsy Eclectica stamp for the sentiment and matted it onto some black card.

Mono Printing With An Acrylic Block

The theme for the March challenge at the Craft Stampers Take It Make It Challenge is to make some mono prints using acrylic paint on acrylic blocks. Trish Latimer has a project in the April Craft Stamper where she has a tutorial on doing this technique.

This is a tag that I made.

I used a mixture of DecoArt and Fresco Finish acrylic paints. The background stamp is by Kaisercraft, I don't know who made the stamp on the edge.
I used the Sizzix Tattered Florals die for the flower and put a piece of corrugated card behind it so that the flower wouldn't disappear into the background. I also put some Stickles onto the petals. I added the PaperArtsy sentiment.

Tim's Tags or 2014 - March

Here is my March tag for the Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2014.
I think I only had the tissue tape, staples and Distress ink that Tim used and had to make do with supplies from my stash.

I tried to keep it as close to Tim's as possible using the following stamps.
Inkadinkado for the twigs.
TJ Designs for the nest.
Time To Stamp for the Egg.
Hero Arts for the feather.

I'm linking my tag to the A Vintage Journey - Anything Tim Challenge

A Vintage Journey - Anything Tim

I've made this tag for the the first challenge at A Vintage Journey, the theme is Anything Tim.

I started by cutting a tag from a piece of blue card that had been embossed with cogs. I coloured the raised edges with a vintage photo distress ink pad and sprayed it with water. I coloured some card with stormy sky and stamped the image then I cut it out. I edged the tag with stormy sky and added some tissue tape to the top and bottom of the tag. I coloured a die cut edge with Treasure Brass and attached it to the bottom of the tag. I coloured some chain, screw brads and watch charm with some Treasure Brass to make them the same colour and attached them to the tag, I also added the image, word, staples and some ribbon.

Supplies
Stampers Anonymous - Time Traveller stamp set.
Katzelkraft - Masculin stamp.
Sizzix - Vintage Lace die.
Stormy sky and vintage photo Distress ink.
Treasure Brass

Transport

Another fortnight has passed and it is time for a new Craft-Room Challenge. We had some wonderful 20th century entries and I don't envy Zoe having to choose her top three.

The lovely Suzanne has has chosen the latest theme but sadly she has had to step down from the team for personal reasons. We are all very sad but understand how things are for her and hope there are good things to come to her very soon. As challenges are planned in advance we are using the theme set by Suzanne.

TRANSPORT
We'd love to see any form of travel that gets us from A to B:
from bicycles to hot air balloons to ships!

Our sponsors are Crafty Individuals

It was my son's birthday yesterday, he was 26, I decided to combine his birthday and the challenge together, this is the card that I made.

I coloured a card blank and a piece of white card with faded jeans Distress ink and stamped the train [Katzelkraft stamp] on the card. I wrapped some ribbon around a piece of Tim Holtz kraft resist paper and attached it to the card with some screw brads. I wrapped a piece of wire round the image and adhered it to the card.

The 20th Century

Another fortnight has gone by and it's time for another Craft-Room Challenge, it's Zoe's turn to choose the theme and she has chosen The 20th Century.

Here is what she has to say about the challenge.

For this challenge I thought we might look back to the last century.   Enough time has passed since 2000 for the edges to have blurred and softened, so we have 100 years of events; fashion, memories and history to draw on.    Your project can be anything at all that is clearly and distinctly 20th Century in inspiration.    Little reminder here Steampunk is Victorian in style and that is 19th Century so a Steampunk character will not qualify, we are looking here for echo's of the 20th Century.   Please tell us how your have been inspired for your project.

Our sponsors for this challenge are: Tando Creative. One lucky winner drawn at random will get a surprise parcel from Di the owner.

I wasn't sure what to do for my DT piece as there is a lot of material to choose from, in the end I chose the Swinging Sixties, I was a teenager in the sixties and have lots of happy memories, the music and fashions were fabulous. I remember flower power, the ban the bomb marches and I love the bright colours of pop art.

For my DT piece I've done a journal page, I used felt tips to colour it in.

The rest of the DT have made some lovley samples, they would love you all to visit the Craft-Room to take a look.

Faces ATCs

Good morning everyone, I hope you all had a good weekend.

I'd like to share with you some ATCs that I've made for the Paperplay ATC swap.

The ATCs were made with Gelli backgrounds and I stamped some script [PaperArtsy] with Brilliance moonlight white. I stamped the faces [La Blanche stamps] onto tissue paper and used white ink on the back before adhering them to the ATCs, I then went round the edges with some guilding flakes. The Joy sentiment is Chocolate Baroque and the others are Creative Expressions.
