Alpha Challenge - Letter H

The letter H is the latest letter in the Craft Barns Alpha Challenge.
Horse is the word that I've chosen.

I painted the page with watered down Fresco Finish paint and then I stamped the images. I painted the horses with watered down vintage photo Distress Stain. I stamped leaves around the page and coloured with peeled paint Distress stain. I wrote the word with a black Promarker and put white dots on the page with a whit Posca pen.
The horse stamps that I used are by Katzelkraft, I don't know the make of the middle horse or the leaves.

Every Inchie Monday

Street Sweeper is the theme for this weeks Every Inchie Monday challenge.
For my inchies I found a couple of images on the Internet, I couldn't decide which one to use so decided to do them both.

For the top one I coloured the background with coloured pencils and cut the image out and used foam pads to adhere it.
For the bottom one I cropped the image and printed it twice, then I cut the little man out of one of the images and used a foam pad to adhere him.

Something For A Man

Something For A Man is the theme that Julia has chosen for the latest Craft-Room Challenge.

Flonzcraft are our sponsors for the challenge. They are based in New Zealand and make wonderful stamps

Last year I went to an Andy Skinner workshop where we altered a book box so for the challenge I decided to alter a wooden calendar to go with it.

I painted the calendar with gesso then adhered some chipboard cogs. I then painted it black and when it was dry brushed it with some DecoArt metalic paint, I also added some gold Rub and Buff. I added a couple of metal cogs and a game spinner.
I coloured the month and date blocks with Distress stain but I don't like them so I'm going to change them - I'll probably give them the same finish as the base.

The rest of the DT have made some fabulous samples so why not visit the Craft-Room to take a look.

It's been a while since I joined in with a Sunday Postcard Art challenge but I've managed to find a bit of time to play this week. The theme is Key To My Heart.

I used images from Gecko Galz, the Internet and CraftArtist digi kits.

12 Tags of 2013 - February

I was so excited when I found out that I was one of the January tag winners and still being flushed with success I thought it was time to make my February tag.
I decided to keep my tag as close to the tag that Tim made using the things that I had in my stash.
You can find Tim's February tag here.
Here is my take on the tag.

Here is a list of the things that I used.
Ripe persimmon, fired brick Distress stain.
Black soot Distress ink.
Black Archival Ink.
Watercolour pencils
Kraft core card.
QuickCutz letter and numbers die.
Art Impressions and 7Gypsies stamps.
Orange Sakura Jelly Roll pen.
Sticker from my stash.

The image was coloured with the watercolour pencils and some water.
I die cut the letters and adhered them to the Kraft core card before sanding them.
The Sakura pen was used to draw and colour the hearts at the top of the tag.

Gung Hay Fat Choy

Artful Times are celebrating the Chinese New Year for their latest challenge, it's the Year Of The Snake so Gung Hay Fat Choy everyone.
For the challenge I've made a bookmark.

For my bookmark I used a Dreamweaver Stencil and Translucent Embossing Paste.
I placed the stencil onto some white card and stippled it with different coloured inks, then I spread the paste over. When the paste had dried I stamped some bamboo leaves and added a charm, then I adhered it to a larger piece of card and added the tassel.

Valentine Tag

I made this tag for a challenge in the Gecko Galz Papercrafting group.

The image is of the Gecko Galz Love Me Do collage sheet and the heart is of the Gecko Galz Hearts Galore collage sheet.
I coloured the tag with Distress ink and embossed it with Cuttlebug embossing folder. I embellished the tag with lace, pearls, ribbon, gems and a charm. The stamp I used for the sentiment is a Catslife Press stamp.

I'm entering my tag in the following challenges.

Happiness Inchie

Happiness is the theme for this weeks Every Inchie Monday challenge.

I love this image but it's quite large so I used shrink plastic to make my inchie. I was very lucky as the plastic shrunk down to almost the right size so I used some sand paper to tidy up the edges and get it to the right size. I used black Archival to stamp the image, I've no idea who made the stamp. I used a black Promarker to edge the inchie but the ink soaked into the plastic giving it a grey edge.

Alpha Challenge - Letter E

The letter E is the latest letter in the Craft Barns Alpha challenge.
The word I chose is Easel. I'm not very keen on what I've done - I don't think the watercoloured image goes with the background.

I painted the background with Fresco Finish paint. Years ago I use to do Parchment Craft and I have a lot of Pergamano Pintura Paint, it's a very runny paint so I decided to let some run down the page.
The image is from Flonzcraft and I coloured it with felt tips and water and then I sponged vintage photo Distress ink over it. I then stamped [unknown] the paint brushes along the bottom. I also scribbled lines around the edges.
I used a QuickCutz die for the black letters.

Don't Mess With The Queen

I'd like to  share with you the ATCs that I made for the Paperplay  January ATC swap.

The backgrounds are some that I made a while ago. I stamped the image onto the ATC and also onto some white card. I coloured the second image leaving the face white then I fussy cut it and adhered it over the image on the ATC. I embellished it with pearls. I stamped the saying and cut the words out before adhering to the ATCs.
The stamps I used are
PaperArtsy/Lynne Perrella for the image.
Stampers Anonymous/Wendy Vecchi for the saying.

Handmade Embelishments

We had some wonderful entries in our Monochrome challenge - thank you everyone that entered. The latest Craft-Room challenge has been chosen by Maria and she would like you all to make your own embellishments to decorate your work.

Our sponsor for the challenge is Rarebird

I started with a card blank that has three apertures and some black card. I stamped some script on the black card with Versamark and embossed it with gold, then I adhered it behind the apertures.
I made the Friendly Plastic hearts by melting the plastic in a heart mold. When they had cooled down I adhered them to the card. I tied some gold cord around the fold. The words are rub ons that I found in my stash.
I don't know the make of the stamp that I used.

The rest of the Design Team have made some fabulous samples, you can see them on the Craft-Room Challenge Blog.

I'm entering my card into the following challenge.

Ruin Inchie

I'm a day early with my inchie for the Every Inchie Monday challenge as I have DT posts to do Monday and Tuesday. This weeks theme is RUIN.

For my inchie I used a Crafty Individuals stamp. I stamped the image twice then cut out my inchie on the part of the image that I wanted, I coloured the sky with Promarkers. I cut out the second image and coloured it with felt tip pens and water then I adhered it to the twinchie with silicone glue.
