The letter E is the latest letter in the Craft Barns Alpha challenge.
The word I chose is Easel. I'm not very keen on what I've done - I don't think the watercoloured image goes with the background.
I painted the background with Fresco Finish paint. Years ago I use to do Parchment Craft and I have a lot of Pergamano Pintura Paint, it's a very runny paint so I decided to let some run down the page.
The image is from Flonzcraft and I coloured it with felt tips and water and then I sponged vintage photo Distress ink over it. I then stamped [unknown] the paint brushes along the bottom. I also scribbled lines around the edges.
I used a QuickCutz die for the black letters.
Hi Hazel
ReplyDeleteDon't think I'm being critical here but I agree that the background and the image don't really go together.
I think the image is traditional and vintage the background is modern, fun and funky.
I hope I haven't offended you, it isn't meant that way.

Gorgeous Hazel, there are lots of amazing details. Have a fab weekend, Sam xx
ReplyDeleteThis is a very inspirational page Hazel, I really like it!!!! Thank you for joining us again over at The Craft Barn x
ReplyDeleteGood page Hazel, lots of great details! Valerie
ReplyDeleteYour page is packed with inspiration! I would think you could replace your center image with one that might be a more modern fit. Cool background. I love the paintbrushes along the bottom. It would also be fun to have them along the top with the bristles painted to match the dripping paint.
ReplyDeleteI disagree with you and Hazel, your use of different intensities makes the easel pop for me.
ReplyDeleteYou had me at drippy paint! Love all the colors and the way you set the image to the background. xo
ReplyDeleteI think the page is just wonderful Hazel and the background goes with any image that has a painter/crafter on it. Says to me 'How ever posh you are the paint/ink still has it own life lol.
ReplyDeleteLove Chrissie xx
Love those painty drips! xxx
ReplyDeleteOoh, love the creative paint drips!! Looks so good x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous interpretation of Easel Hazel this word jumped out at me too but I couldn't think what to do, I love the paint running down the page a true artist getting messy.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful page:)

What a fabulous backdrop. I had an easel with paint drips on it just like that. I sort of see where you're coming from re the central image but it does have an easel in it so kind of ties in.
ReplyDeleteGreat page again this week
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing with us at the Craft Barn
