Masterboard Card

The  May challenge for the Impressionist group at Bella Creations was to make a masterboard and the June challenge is to make something with it - I made the above card. The light wasn't very good when I took the photo and it looks more blue than it is.
I printed of a copy of my masterboard, matted it onto black card then attached it to a card blank. I coloured some white card with milled lavender distress ink and stamped the butterflies with dusty concord distress ink then I matted onto black card and attached to the card blank. Lastly I added some flowers.
The stamps that I used are Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous.
Below is a photo of my masterboard.

Craft-Room Challenge 3

Thank you everybody that entered our altered doll challenge - all the dolls were fabulous.
This time it's Mervi's turn to choose the theme and she has chosen SUMMER BIRTHDAYS. I hope you'll all enter but don't forget to be eligible for the prize draw you must put the Craft-Room logo in your side bar with a link to the shop.
I've always loved Sweet Peas and my mind goes back to when I was a child - my dad grew them every Summer and he would give me some seeds to plant in my little bit of garden. Their scent is glorious.
I've had this Joanna Sheen stamp for a while and never used it so I decided it was time to take it out of it's packet. I started of with a white card blank and stamped the sweet peas down the right hand side of the card leaving them black and white, then I coloured the edges of the card with Distress Ink. I then stamped the sweet peas and plant pot on to some white card and coloured them with watercolour pencils and a water brush. I then coloured the edges with Distress Ink and then distressed the edges with a distressing tool before attaching it to the card. I'd stamped some butterflies and coloured them with watercolour pencil then cut them out and attached them to the card and I lastly added a bit of ribbon.

Less is More Sketch 2

The challenge at Less Is More this week is the above sketch. I've not been able to join in with the last couple of challenges but managed to find a bit of time yesterday to do a couple of cards for this one.
The background for this card was cut with a Martha Stewart punch and the daisy stamp is a La Pashe stamp.

For this card I layered some scalloped pink card and some paper from my stash then I attached the three coloured squares. The stamps that I used are by Inkadinkado.

Steampunk Hanging

I started of by painting some burgundy corrugated card with orange and white acrylic paint, then I coloured some white card with tattered rose, antique linen and dried marigold distress ink using the direct to paper technique, I stamped lots of images on top of this using broken china and tea die distress ink and black archival ink. I cut out three images from a piece of Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante paper, then I attached it all to the backing card. I added cogs etc and wrapped some wire round a pencil to get the curly wire.
The stamps I used are by Katzelkraft and 7 Gypsies.
I'm entering this into Simon Says Stamp and Show some metal challenge and Just For Fun steampunk challenge.

Let's Face It

I've made this tag for the Dragons Dream Tag It On challenge, the theme this week is Lets Face It. I made the tag from some card that has fairies on it and I coloured the edges with forest moss distress ink then I stamped some leafy bits on it in dusty concord. I stamped the main image and sentiment onto some card that I'd coloured with alcohol inks then I matted the images onto some black card before attaching them to the tag.
The stamps that I used are:
Paper Inspirations, the face image.
Stampotique, the sentiment.
Tattered Angels, the background

The Mad Tea Party

The challenge at the Altered Alice this month is to celebrate the Mad Hatter and to bring something to the Mad Tea Party.
This is what I came up with.
I thought I'd try and create the Tea Party from the book. I started with a canvas and I painted it with Eco Green acrylic paints and stamped a few leaves over the top with Distress ink, then I attached it to some green board. I cut the image of the tea party from an old Alice book and enlarged it then coloured it in with Promarkers and cut the figures out. After I attached them to the side of the canvas I put some lace around the sides. I made some [not very well] tea cups and saucers with air drying clay and coloured them with acrylic paint. The last thing was to decorate with some flowers and leaves.
I decided to bring two things to the party the first being a piano so that they could have a jolly old sing song and knees up, the second is the kitchen sink [the teapot on the table] so that they could wash up after the party. There's a couple of pints on top of the piano so I suppose that could be a third thing.

Fathers Day Card

I made this card for three challenges on Bella Creations - we had to use the image of the car that was provided by Gecko Galz.
I started of by stamping the two black cars then I covered them with a mask and made the background with Distress ink and lots of stamping.
The Distress inks that I used are antique linen, broken china, rusty hinge, weathered wood, faded jeans, stormy sky and tea dye.
All the stamps that I used are Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous.
For the Happy Fathers Day I used a peel of as a stencil, then I removed the peel of after I went over it with distress ink, then I wrote over the letters with a black pen.

Good News and a Murder of Crows

Firstly my good news.
I found out yesterday that I had been chosen to join the Gecko Galz Design Team. You can imagine how excited I am - they sell the most amazing paper crafting products. I only found out about the DT call the day before the deadline so I quickly got a presentation together - talk about leaving it to the last minute. I'm really looking forward to being part of the team.

Now for the Murder Of Crows.
The challenge theme this week at the Dragons Dream Tag It On is Numbers.
I put some forest moss and scattered straw Distress ink onto a Cuttlebug number embossing folder before embossing the tag, then I went round the edge of the tag with black soot using my finger. I stamped the crows onto white card, cut them out and coloured them with scattered straw and black soot round the edge.
The crow stamps are by Lost Coast Designs.

Getting Tangled Up

I've always wanted to have a go at doing Zentangles so when I saw that the theme on Just For Fun is 'getting tangled up' I thought it was now time to have a go.
I decided to use a cat image that I had left over from an earlier project and this is the result. I really enjoyed getting tangled up and I will certainly be doing more.

There's a Deco Book swap going on at KCUK and I made these pages for Anne's deco book, her theme is cats. The stamps that I used are by Craft UK. I coloured the Siamese cat with watercolour pencils and a water brush. I also used distress ink.
Again the stamps are by Craft UK and I coloured the tabby with watercolour pencils and water brush. I put stickles over the letters that spell purr. I used distress inks as well.

Distressed Edged Card

I'm entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp and Show your distressed/torn edges challenge.
I coloured a white card blank with milled lavender and old paper distress ink, I used the direct to paper technique. I distressed the edges and then went round them with old paper distress ink. I distressed the images the same way. The lovely lady image is an image from Gecko Galz , I added a little bit of mauve to her dress using a coloured pencil. For the other images I used stamps by Artistic Outpost. The last thing I did was to add a few pearls to the edge of the card.

Craft-Room Challenge No 2

Well here we are at our second Craft-Room challenge. We had a fantastic response to our first challenge, thank you everybody that entered  I've never seen so much lovely work in one place and I hope you will all join us in our second challenge.

The theme for our second challenge is Altered Paper Dolls.

I must admit that when I heard what the theme was I panicked a little bit then I remembered that I had stamps that I could use and here is the result  my little dancer.
The stamps that I've used are by Character Construction and I coloured them with Promarkers. The head I cut from a photo in a dancing magazine, I was lucky that she had a mask on that went with the dress. I put stickles round the edge of the mask and covered the dress with stickles. I coloured some tassels with Promarker to match the dress then attached it to the back of the skirt. The last thing I did was to attach some small flowers and some pearls.

Flapper Card

Here is a card that I made this week for my KCUK friend Lynne's birthday. I stamped the background images onto pale pink paper using coffee Archival ink, I edged the paper with frayed burlap Distres ink then attached it to a card blank. The stamps that I used are by Artistic Outpost. The main image is a free image that I downloaded from Fripperies & Butterflies. I matted it to some brown card before attaching it to the card.
