Eco Green Canvas

For my latest CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS DT piece I've decorated a canvas and the frame that came with it using the fabulous Eco Green Garden Chic stamp set. They're lovely stamps to use and are made from recycled rubber.

I also used Eco Green Acrylic paint, the colours I used are pistachio, clam shell and lake.
I started by painting the frame with pistachio, when this was dry I brushed some Eco Green Glue over the front of the frame and then covered this with clam shell, I dried it with my heat gun to form the cracked effect, then I used my finger to paint some weathered wood Distress ink over the cracks. You can't tell from the photo that I've put some butterfly tissue tape over the sides of the frame.
I painted the canvas with clam shell and lake acrylic paint, when this was dry I stamped the foilage with the pistachio paint. I stamped and embossed the butterfly in black and after I cut it out I covered it with orange peel Stickles. I used a black Promarker to colour some silver corners and attached them to the frame, then I added some punched flowers and leaves.

After I'd taken the photo I wasn't sure if I liked the corners so I removed them, I'm still not sure which one I prefer.

Valentines Day

I can't believe that another fortnight has gone and it's time for another  CRAFT-ROOM CHALLENGE, the new challenge has been chosen by the lovely Maria and her theme is Valentines Day.
For my DT piece I've made a card.

This has got to be the easiest card that I've ever made, I put my back out last week and couldn't get my mind round anything too involved. My back is still painful and I'm still walking funny but I think it's getting better.
At Christmas I treated myself to the Cricut Ornamental Iron 2 cartridge, it has a lot of intricate designs on it.
I started with a red card blank and cut the frame and letters on my Cricut Expression, the image is from the Gecko Galz Kiss Me collage sheet, I attached it to the frame and added the black gems. I added flowers from my stash and black peel offs [sorry Cath] around the edge.

Winter Trees

I've made this card for a challenge on the KCUK group, the theme of the challenge is Winter.
I coloured the background card with broken china, faded jeans, bundled sage and dried marigold Distress ink, I used the ink pads directly to the card. The background trees were stamped with stormy sky Distress ink and black Archival. I stamped the main image onto white card and covered it with Crackle Accents, when it was dry I matted it onto black card and attached it to the main card. The words were stamped onto white card and cut out before attaching it to the card.
The stamps I've used are
Inkadinkado for the main image.
Dylusions for the words.
I'm not sure who made the background trees or the birds.

Marianne die for the flower.
PaperArtsy die for the leaves.
Cricut Expression Joys of the Season Cartridge for the birds.
The sentiment was stamped with black Archival ink.

Man of the Match

It's my friend Paul's birthday today and this is the card I've made for him. The image is 3D decoupage, I use to do a lot of this. I coloured the card with Distress ink. I stamped and coloured the bats and wickets with Distress ink, I've no idea who made the stamps. I should have taken a side view photo to show all the layers.

Alice ATCs

It's a long time since I've entered an ATC swap but I couldn't resist this one for the UK STAMPERS as I'm a big fan of Alice in Wonderland.
For the main images I used stamps by the Octopode Factory, coloured them with Promarkers and cut them out. For the ATCs background I used card that I'd coloured months ago and some torn pages from an old Alice In Wonderland book.

Sentimental Hanging

This is my latest DT piece for CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS  using the Studio 490 Sentimental Art stamps. I also used two corners and a heart from the Studio 490 Artparts.

I started by painting a square piece of mountboard with some emulsion paint, the colour is called Opulence, I also painted the Artpart heart the same colour. I randomly stamped parts of the large background stamp onto the mountboard and stamped the heart with the background stamp. I cut a heart shape out of white card and stamped it with the background stamp using black archival ink. I attached this to the mountboard with some white lace round it's edge. I attached the Artpart heart trying to match the pattern to the white heart, I think this is called spotlight stamping. I painted the Artpart corners black and attached them to the hanging then I added the string of pearls and some flowers from my stash. The sentiment was stamped onto some white card that I'd painted red with the emulsion paint, this was then matted onto some black card and attached to the hanging. The last things that I did was to add some pearls to the flowers and some black cord to hang it with.

I stamped the main image onto white card with Marvy ink. and matted it onto a peachy coloured card and then matted this onto dark brown card, I then attached it to the card and stamped the sentiment.
The stamps that I used are.

Rubbadubbado for the sentiment.

Style Is Eternal

This is a card that I've made for GECKO GALZ using an image from the Hurray For Hollywood Ephemera sheets and the Cherry Pie background paper.
I cut some strips of black card at an angel and attached them to the background paper then I attached it to a black card blank. I cut the image and sentiment at odd angles, matted them onto black card and attached them to the card. I added some circles, a pearl and a pearl spray.
The sentiment stamp that I used is by Hero Arts.

Coca Cola Hanging

This is my latest DT piece for GECKO GALZ. I used images from the Cola Wars Ephemera sheet and the Bridge Club background paper.
I printed the images and background onto card and embossed the background with a Creative Expressions brick embossing folder, I had to do two and join them together, I used vintage photo Distress Ink on the bricks to make them stand out more. I distressed the edges and attached it to a piece of black corrugated card. I distressed the edges of the images and matted them onto black card and attached them to the background. I made the flowers from Coca Cola cans using a Spellbinders flower die to cut them out. I sanded the surface to take of some of the shine and then shaped the petals. For the centre of the flowers I attached the small coke bottle images to the insides of some bottle caps and smothered them with Glossy Accents. I attached the chain and a with couple of small flowers and brads.

Tuesday, 3 January 2012

Let me start by wishing you all a very Happy and Healthy New Year. I hope you all enjoyed the festivities and haven't put on as much weight as I have.
My first post of the year is my latest DT piece for CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS using the Studio 490/Wendy Vecchi Sentimental Art stamp set.

I started by stamping the large background stamp with black Archival ink onto a piece of yellow card, I attached this to a card blank. I then attached a piece of pale yellow spotty card that I had cut out on my Cricut Expression. I cut out a heart shape and stamped it with the background stamp, matted it onto yellow card and attached it to the card blank. I then embellished the card with die cut flowers, black gems, ribbon, the sentiment and a silver heart charm.
