Comedy/Humour is the theme for this weeks Sunday Postcard Art.

I have a few humorous stamps but the one I've used has been in my collection for years and only used once.

The background is a Gelly print. I stamped and embossed the Eve and words and stamped the apples. I drew the snake and everything was coloured with pencils.

Butterfly Tag.

I made this tag for a black and red tag swap, unfortunately the red looks very pink.

I brayered some black and red paint for the background and brayered the excess paint onto some white card. I stamped the Stampers Anonymous butterflies onto the painted card and tore round them, I wound some red metalic thread around the butterflies and then adhered it to the tag. I stamped the Innovative Stamp Creations butterfly onto the card and cut it out. You cant see from the photo that I covered the butterfly with stickles. I added the sentiment [unknown stamp]

Mixed Media Wednesday

Today it's my turn to share a project for Mixed Media Wednesday over at Mixed Media Mojo.

I covered a 7"x 5" canvas board with dictionary paper, when the glue was dry I stuck down pieces of very sticky masking tape and pulled it of, this removed some of the paper leaving some of the underside, that had stuck to the glue, showing, I also scraped bits of with my finger nail.

I gave the page a wash with watered down acrylic paint and put other colours on with my finger.

I stamped some crackle and flowers, then I splattered some white acrylic paint over it.

The flower and sentiment were stamped and embossed. I used the stem of the flower to go round the edge, The butterflies were stamped onto previously coloured card and cut out, I painted a glossy accents over them.

Items used:
DecoArt - acrylic paint.
Kaiserkraft - crackle stamp.
Visible Image - flower and sentiment stamp.
Innovative Stamp Creations - butterflies.
Archival Ink - black and French ultramarine.

Things With Wings

This month the Art Journey Journal challenge theme is Things With Wings.
These are the pages that I've made for the challenge.

I'd also like to link my project to the following challenges.

That's Crafty - Wings 'n Things.
The Mirror Crack'd - Wings.
Country View Challenges - Anything Goes.

I started by colouring the pages with acrylic paint, I stencilled  some flowers and doodled some swirls with a glitter pen. I stamped some butterflies with a foam stamp.

Using an old credit card I scraped some white and blue paint over the pages.

I stencilled some flowers and leaves and stamped some small butterflies and script. The Indian Butterfly Legend was stamped onto a separate piece of card and cut out.
I stamped the large butterflies with black archival ink and coloured them with Pitt Big Brush Artist Pens.
I doodled round the edges of the pages.

This is a close up of the Indian Butterfly Legend.

I used the following stamps
Innovative Stamp Creations - large butterflies
Wendy Rhodes - Indian Butterfly Legend

Artful Times Tag

There's a new challenge blog called Artful Times just started and the first challenge is to make a tag.

Before I show you the tag that I've made I would like to apologise to you all for the my lack of commenting, I've not had much time to comment just lately but hope to get round and visit you all soon.

This is the tag that I've made for the challenge.

I coloured the tag with various colours of Distress ink. I stamped a variety of images and added some tissue tape, eyelets, chain, metal charm and some sari ribbon.
The stamps that I used on the background are by Katzelkraft, Crafty Individuals and Innovative Stamp Creations.
The car and sentiment are Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous stamps.

If you need some inspiration why not visit Artful Times and have a look at the wonderful samples that Sam, Von and Neet have created.
