A Couple of ATCs

Good morning a everyone, I hope you all had lovely weekend, I went on a mixed media workshop yesterday and had a brilliant time. What I made isn't quite finished yet but as soon as it is I will put on my blog.

Today I'd like to share a couple of ATCs with you.

I used one of my mono prints for the background and stamped some script on it.
The Dina Wakley image was stamped and embossed and the Creative Expressions words were stamped and embossed. I went round the edge with some blue acrylic paint.

Again the background is a mono print that I adhered to some blue card. I stamped the Chocolate Baroque flower onto the background in white and also stamped it on to a book page in black. After colouring  the flower with acrylic paint I cut it out and adhered it to the ATC. I also stencilled some dots. I hand wrote the word onto a piece of scrap card.

The Documented Life - Week 6

Still trying to play catch up with the DLP. The theme for February is Layers You Will Love. For week 6 we had to use as many layers as possible.

I'd like to share my pages with Bumblebees and Butterflies - A Visual Journey 12

Here are my finished pages, I tried to count the layers as I went along but lost count.

I thought I'd have a go at doing a collage.

This was my first layer, I glued patterned paper the the pages.

I scraped white paint over the pages and added my calendar.

I coloured the pages with acrylic paint and gelatos.

I stencilled the rays and hearts with gesso and coloured them with brushos. I lost count of the layers at this stage. The houses were drawn onto patterned paper, cut out and glued to the pages. I found a piece of paper that had small squares over it and some of the squares had people and animals looking out of them so I used these for the windows. I stencilled some trees with felt tips.

I used Faber-Castell pitt pens to colour and add shading to the houses I also used a white sharpie to take out some of the colour of the hearts and add a fence at the bottom. I added a cut out tree and some rub ons.

For the challenge I've made a postcard, I decided to have a go at doing some doodling, I found it very relaxing and will try and find time to do more.

I used a Dreamweaver stencil.

Things With Wings

This month the Art Journey Journal challenge theme is Things With Wings.
These are the pages that I've made for the challenge.

I'd also like to link my project to the following challenges.

That's Crafty - Wings 'n Things.
The Mirror Crack'd - Wings.
Country View Challenges - Anything Goes.

I started by colouring the pages with acrylic paint, I stencilled  some flowers and doodled some swirls with a glitter pen. I stamped some butterflies with a foam stamp.

Using an old credit card I scraped some white and blue paint over the pages.

I stencilled some flowers and leaves and stamped some small butterflies and script. The Indian Butterfly Legend was stamped onto a separate piece of card and cut out.
I stamped the large butterflies with black archival ink and coloured them with Pitt Big Brush Artist Pens.
I doodled round the edges of the pages.

This is a close up of the Indian Butterfly Legend.

I used the following stamps
Innovative Stamp Creations - large butterflies
Wendy Rhodes - Indian Butterfly Legend

Documented Life Project - Week 5

Use Underpaper is the challenge for week 5 of the DLP and the journal prompt is What Lies Beneath. I'm falling behind with the project as we're now on week 10, so I've got a lot of catching up to do.

I didn't have much underpaper but I had quite a bit of kitchen towel that I use underneath things that I spray.

This is my finished page, I'm not sure I like it as I feel it needs more done to it.

I coloured the pages with acrylic paint applied with a baby wipe. I used a Dina Wakley stamp round the edges and a swirly stamp on the background, I also did a few doodles.
I drew the flowers onto the inked kitchen towel and cut them out, then I glued them to the pages and doodled round them.
I found the Thomas Jefferson quote on the Internet.

Calendar Challenge - March

Yellow and Rabbits is the theme for the Craft Barn's March calendar challenge.

I coloured the background with Brushos and stamped and embossed the Jofy flowers and butterfly in white. I used a black pen to go round the outlines of the flowers but I used a fine tipped pen and it doesn't show up very well. I coloured the flowers with felt tips,
I used a Crafty Individuals stamp for the rabbits although I think they might be hares, they were stamped on white card and coloured with felt tips and then cut out and glued to the page.

Time ATCs

Hi everybody, I hope you are enjoying the weekend.

I'd like to share a couple of ATCs with you today, the theme is Time.

I'd like to link my ATCs to the Mixed Media Mojo Challenge - the theme is to make a pair of ATCs.

The background was coloured with distress inks and I stamped the Creative Expressions stamp with peacock feathers distress ink. The Artistic Stamper Phineas Pinchbeck image was stamped and embossed onto a piece of white card and cut out, he was coloured with distress ink. The little wooden clock was covered with Treasure Brass.

For this ATC I coloured the background with distress ink and stamped the Crafty Individuals image, I also stamped and embossed the image onto white card and coloured it with acrylic paint. I cut round the image and cut out the centre leaving just the clock frame, I adhered this over the image on the ATC.

Altered Packaging

It's time for the latest Altered Eclectic challenge. As always the theme is Anything Goes but it must be Mixed Media/Altered Art, no cards are allowed.

For my DT piece this month I decided to turn some Amazon packaging into a colourful folder.

This is the packaging I started with.

I started by covering everything with white gesso and then painted it with acrylic paint.

I then scraped some gesso over it using a credit card. I left some of the colour showing and added some shapes and lines using my finger and small brush I also used a stencil in places. I stamped some flowers [Chocolate Baroque] onto book paper and cut them out and glued them to the piece keeping some aside for later.

I then added more colour until I was pleased with the result and then I added some black script. I used a mixture of Fresco Finish, DecoArt and Reeves acrylic paint.

I painted the inside of the folder and glued down the flaps, then I added some of the spare flowers.

I decided to use a magnetic closure so I glued in the magnets and covered the magnet on the front with a flower, then I glued a couple of flowers to card so that they were more sturdy, I glued these to the front and back of the magnet on the flap.

This is the back of the folder.

This is a close up of the paintwork,

Why not pop over the the Altered Eclectic Challenge to see the fabulous pieces that the rest of DT have made.
