Bathing Beauties

This is one of this months projects that I've made for GECKO GALZ. I've used the Bathing Beauties Ephemera Collection.
I started of with a wooden frame and painted it with Peony and Clam shell Eco Green acrylic paint using the distressed technique. I painted the inside of the frame with lake and the top of the frame with blueberry acrylic paint. I then went over the frame with weathered wood Distress ink to make it look a bit more shabbier.
Then using the images that I'd cut out, some string and net material I attached them so that the material overlapped the images and string. Then I attached some shells, starfish and a seahorse and anchor charm. The words are cut from the ephemera sheet and have been coloured with Distress ink and embossed all over. I stamped the seagull, cut it out and attached it to the top of the frame. Not sure who made the stamp.

Under The Red, Yellow and Orange Sea

The latest theme for the Stampotique Designers Challenge is Red Yellow and Orange and Stampotique stamps have to be used. I'm also going to enter this in the Simon Says Stamp and Show Anything Goes challenge.
I started of with a white card and stamped the images masking them as I went along, then I coloured the card in wavy lines using the direct to paper technique with a shades of orange Marvy Blending Blox. Then I stamped the plants with Elusive Images stamps. When I'd removed the masks I coloured the images with Promarkers. I then embossed the edges of the card with tropic red Cosmic Shimmer UTEE. and added some little coloured dew drops to look like bubbles.

Tag Tuesday

The challenge at Blog Challenge Garden is to make a ten minute tag. You have to gather your supplies together and make the tag in 10 minutes or under. It's not as easy as it seems but I just managed to do it. I had a piece of white card that I'd stamped some words on so I cut out a tag shape and coloured it with spun sugar Distress ink and went round the edges with worn lipstick. I attached some music tissue tape and a piece of patterned paper. The main image is a Gecko Galz card topper. I added some pink lace, flowers and an adage ticket. I'm not sure who made the work background stamp.

Craft-Room Challenge No 5 Summer Holidays.

It's my turn to choose the theme for the 5th CRAFT-ROOM CHALLENGE and I have chosen SUMMER HOLIDAYS. It seemed appropriate for this time of year with schools closing for the summer and people jet setting of here there and everywhere. For my sample I had a trip down memory lane, have a visit to the Craft-Room Challenge blog to see the fabulous samples that the other Design Team members have done.
For my sample I was going to make a card with the Crafty Individuals stamped image, I love this stamp because it reminds me of holidays that I had when I was a child, every year we went to Blackpool and the little girl reminds me of me sat on a donkey. Then I remembered that a few years ago I scanned some of my dads slides and there was a slide of me and my sister sat on donkeys, so I printed it, then I remembered that a few years ago we took the kids to Blackpool for the weekend so I printed a couple the photo's that we took then, so my card turned into a 10"x8" canvas. I painted the canvas with acrylic paint and distressed the edges of the photo's and edged them with vintage photo Distress ink. All the stamps that I used are Crafty Individuals, the shell, seaside and fish are all one image that I tore into three pieces and coloured them with dried marigold and broken china Distress ink. I attached all the photo's to the canvas together with some coloured matereal and some shells. Then I added some die cut letters.

LIM Week 25

The theme at Less Is More this week is Button or Ribbon so I raided my button box and came up with this card.
I stamped the button corner onto a pale green card blank and stamped the stitches across the bottom. Then I embossed some white card in my Epic6 using a Creative Expressions button stencil and then I matted a strip of it onto black card and attached it to the card blank. I stamped the sentiment and watch onto white card, matted the sentiment onto black card and then attached them to the card blank. Then I added lots of buttons.
The stamps I used are
Creative Expressions, corner buttons.
Andy Skinner, stitches, sentiment and watch.

Alice All Grown Up

The theme for the Altered Alice challenge this month is to have a teapot or teacup on the project and/or to use something other than a stamped image as the focal point. I decided not to have any Alice in Wonderland characters on my piece, the only reference to her is her name. I decided that she is now grown up and is very grand throwing afternoon tea parties for her friends and acquaintances. All the images that I've used, apart from the little dog, are from the GECKO GALZ Tea Time collection. The only stamp that I've used is the Inkadinkado chandelier. It is supposed to be hanging from the ceiling but it's so low down that it is now the shadow of Alice's chandelier. The background papers are from my stash and the words are done on the computer.

Tiny Dancer

I have made this tag for the Oh La La challenge at Bella Creations. We were given the lovely ballerina image to use by GECKO GALZ .
I started of with a black tag and for the background I used a freebie paper from Dezinaworld, I tore the edges and inked them with vintage photo Distress ink before attaching it to the tag. I coloured some white material with vintage photo and worn lipstick Distress ink then frayed the edges, I attached this to the tag with some of the white material underneath. I added some pearls and then tore round the edge of the image before putting it on the tag. I stamped some feathers on to vellum with moonlight white Brilliance ink and then cut them out then I attached them to the tag with a flower from my stash. Lastly I added the words and tied a piece of the frayed fabric through the hole.
I don't know who made the feather stamp.

A Simple Card

I can't believe that I haven't blogged anything for over a week. My mojo has gone walk about and what little crafting I have done I can't blog yet, so I have looked at work I did ages ago and decided to show this one. I stamped the main image [Crafty Individuals] onto some Crafty Individuals patterned paper then matted it onto some cream and then black card then I attached it to a card blank. I then attached the sentiment, this is a sticker from my stash.  I then covered a chipboard bird with the CI paper and attached it to the card then added some black gems.

Craft Room Challenge No 4

Thank you everybody that entered our Summer Birthdays challenge, the entries were fabulous.
It's now time for the new CRAFT-ROOM CHALLENGE and the challenge this time is BUTTERFLIES.
I decided to do a canvas for this challenge.
I painted the canvas with antique satin and oak leaf emulsion paint and coloured parts of it with dried marigold distress ink. Because it's difficult to stamp onto canvas I stamped the background images onto some tissue paper and attached it to the canvas. We had a parcel delivered in a fabulous green box, so I tore away a piece of it, peeled back some of the green covering to reveal the corrugated card underneath, before attaching it to the canvas I coloured the edges with the dried marigold. I attached some lace to the top and bottom of the canvas and I covered the sides with tissue tape, you can't see this on the photo. I stamped the main image onto some mountboard, coloured the edges with dried marigold and then triple embossed it, then I attached it to the canvas. I attached some butterflies that I'd stamped and cut out, some flowers that I'd made, some pearls and some leaves.
I used olive Archival ink for all the stamping.
The stamps that I used are
Stamps Away for the background and butterflies.
Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous for the main image.

Less is More - One Layer Challenge

Something with legs is the challenge at Less Is More this week. I love this Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous elephant stamp, I've had it a while and thought it was time to use it. I stamped it and the Hero Arts sentiment with black Archival ink. I used a Tando Creative leaf stencil to do the leaves.
This is the same as above except that the sentiment is by Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous and the Happy Birthday is by Inkadinkado.

CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS CALLING CARD CHALLENGE

One of my favorite craft companies CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS has a Design Team call at the moment so I thought I'd have a go. They have set a challenge for all the DT hopefuls that is to produce a piece of work that has an ATC somewhere on the piece. This is the card that I've made for the challenge.
I started of with a cream card blank and edged it with old paper and stormy sky Distress ink. For the background I coloured some white card with spun sugar using the direct to paper technique and then using a baby wipe I spread some broken china and faded jeans over the pink. I stamped the background using stormy sky and then went round the edge with stormy sky using my finger. I tore the edge of a piece of beige corrugated card and coloured parts of it and the edge with stormy sky, then I attached it to the background card, I wrapped a piece of string round it and attached the background to the card blank.
For the ATC I stamped the image onto a piece of spare background card then I tore the edges and went round the edge with faded jeans, then attached it to a piece of blue ATC size card. I stuck blue gems to three of the corners and a little bird charm to the other. For the words I put a strip of blue card through my Dymo machine and put a bit of stormy sky over the letters.
The main image and little birds were stamped with black Archival ink and I used Distress ink for the rest.
The stamps that I used are
Artistic Outpost, the main image.
Inkadinkado, the background.
Tattered Angels, the background.

LIM Shades of Blue

I've made this card for the Less Is More shades of blue challenge. I wrapped some blue thread round a piece of blue scalloped edged card then I attached it to a white card blank. I stamped the ballerina on to some white card and lastly I attached a pale blue gem. The ballerina is a stamp by The Artistic Stamper.
