Good morning everyone, I hope you’re having a lovely weekend with lovely weather, it’s very wet where I am.
Before I share my piece with you I must apologise with you all for my lack of commenting on your blogs, I’d decided to have a break from blogging but it wasn’t meant to be as long as two months.
I made my dotty pages for a lesson at the Art Journal Summer School, the theme was inspired by the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, she’s the queen of polka dots.
I think I still have time to enter it in the Art Journal Journey challenge - Polka Dots, Stripes, Plaids or Patterns.
I drew the image and coloured it with coloured pencils.
Thank you for dropping by to take a look, have a lovely day. xxx

SPA - Texture
Texture is this weeks theme for the Sunday Postcard Art challenge.
I used a stencil with some texture paste on the background and coloured it with watered Scribble Sticks, I let it dry and built up layers of colour drying each layer before adding more colour. I painted some tissue paper with white acrylic paint, when the paint was dry I stamped some Stampendous flowers on the side with no paint. I tore round the images and adhered them to the card. I coloured the flowers with Pitt pens and coloured pencils. I added some tissue tape for the Tim Holtz paper doll to stand on, I coloured her dress with pencil. I also splattered the card with silver paint, I’m glad it doesn’t show up on the photo as it looks like snow and I don’t like it,

Tropical Juice
Good morning everyone, it's a very wet and chilly one here.
The challenge at Tag Tuesday is Beverages, so for my tag I imagined myself on a tropical island sitting in the sunshine drinking a lovely fruity cocktail.
I coloured the background with distress inks and stencilled it with a Craftascope stencil and black soot distress ink. I put some washi tape at the bottom. I stamped the Crafters Companion cocktail onto white card and coloured it with watercolour and coloured pencils, the flamingo, humming bird, flower and leaves are Daisy Trail images that I printed and for the sun and large flower at the bottom I used Leonie Pujol floral burst dies.

Decorated Hand
Good morning all, it’s the first of June so it’s time for the latest challenge at Altered Eclectics, as always the theme is Anything Goes as long as the projects are mixed media/altered art, no cards ATCs etc are allowed.
For my DT piece I've decorated a papier-mache hand.
I started by giving the hand a coat of white gesso.
Then I adhered some scraps of paper napkins and rice paper.
Then I did a couple of things that I wished I hadn't done - I coloured parts of the hand with turquoise paint and then I went a bit mad with some white and gold splatters.
I added some flowers to the base.
A close up of the flowers and splatters.
Thank you all for dropping by to take a look, have a lovely day. xxx

Altered Journal Cover
The 1st of May already and time for a new challenge at Altered Eclectics, as always the theme is anything goes as long as it’s mixed media/altered art.
I’ve altered a journal cover for my DT project.
The journal started life with a plain kraft cover.
I’ve altered a journal cover for my DT project.
The journal started life with a plain kraft cover.
I covered it with a gelli print and stencilled the flowers with acrylic paint [Decoart and Paperartsy], I stamped some leaves with a Dina Wakley stamp and paint. When the paint had dried I doodled on the flowers and leaves with Posca pens I also drew some tiny flowers.
I found a couple of fabrics in my fabric stash, a green one for the leaves and a yellow one with pretty pink roses on it for the flowers, it's quite a bright yellow but it doesn't show up very well on the photo. I adhered the material to some card and cut out the flower and leaf shapes, I used a black pen on the edges and then adhered them to the page.
Thank you for dropping by to take a look, have a lovely day. xxx
