Owl ATC

The latest Artful Times challenge is Owls. I made this ATC some time ago, I think it was for a UK Stampers swap.

The ATC was made from a Gelli print and I stamped the Crafty Individuals image onto another Gelli Print. I heat embossed the edge of the ATC in gold and added the Hero Arts sentiment.

Things With Wings At The Craft-Room

Another fortnight has quickly gone by and it's time for another Craft-Room Challenge, it's Annie's turn to choose the theme and she has chosen Things With Wings.

For the challenge I've made a card.

I covered a white card blank with vellum that had music printed on it and then I added a die cut [Sizzix/Tim Holtz]. I printed the Gecko Galz image and edged it with green ink, I also cropped the butterflies and printed them three times and covered them with Stickles.

Altered Journal

It was my birthday yesterday and I spent a brilliant day catching up with crafty friends at an Andy Skinner workshop. We used lots of DecoArt products to alter a journal.

It was my friend Alison's birthday as well yesterday and our friend Gabby, who makes lovely cakes, made this cake and brought to the workshop for us - it was very yummy.

Tag Along - Children

This is my tag for the latest challenge at Tag Along the theme is Children.

The tag was made with a Gelli print and I added some washi tape and lace. The image was stamped directly onto the tag and I coloured parts of it with Artbars. The giggle was stamped onto another piece of a Gelli print.
I used stamps from the Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz The Girls stamp set.

Craft-Room Challenge - Recycle

Time for the latest Craft-Room Challenge and this fortnight it's Esthers turn to choose the theme, she would like you all to RECYCLE something - this can be either giving an old creation a new lease of life or starting from scratch using a recycled object (or both!!).

For my DT piece I've recycled a tin can and a tag that I made in 2011 - I'm going to use it for my paint brushes.

                                                 

I covered the inside of the can with paper and the outside with a Gelli print, then I put a strip of tissue tape round the top edge of the can. I stamped some paintbrushes onto tissue paper and adhered them to the bottom edge of the can.

I carefully took the images of the tag and adhered them to can, I also added a couple of other stamped images.

Abstract ATCs

The theme for the Paperplay April ATC swap was Abstract. I wasn't sure what to do for the this as I've never done any abstract art before. I looked at some images online and decided to spread some acrylic paint on my ATCs with a palette knife and made some lines with an out of date credit card and some circles with a bottle top. I stamped the face onto some tissue paper and painted the back with white acrylic, then I cut them out and adhered them to the ATCs.

By The Sea

By The Sea is the latest challenge theme at Tag Along - this is my tag for the challenge.

I coloured my tag with salty ocean Distress ink and embossed it with a Spellbinders Impressibilities stencil, I then coloured the raised edges with vintage photo Distress ink. I layered different colours of organza for the sea and sand. I stamped the beach belles and  coloured them with pencils, then cut them out and adhered them to the tag. I added the sentiments, tiny plane, metal charm and ribbon.

On The Runway

The latest challenge theme at Frilly and Funkie is On The Runway, they want to see sewing or fashion projects - I have made a tag.

I stitched some hearts onto some turquoise material and layered this with some pink material, lace, tissue tape and some pretty braid. I then adhered the Gecko Galz image, buttons [stamp unknown], sentiment [Crafty Secrets stamp], roses and metal charms.
