The Voices Spoke Only To Her

I'm a little late this week with my DT piece for Creative Expressions, it's been one of those weeks.

I made this card with the Studio 490/Wendy Vecchi  Voice of Art stamp set, I also used the background stamp from the Sentimental Art set.
I stamped the background onto vellum with pearlescent coral Brilliance ink, after attaching it to a card blank I edged it with aged mahogany and vintage photo Distress ink.
For the die cuts I used Spellbinders Assorted Leaves, Bird Sanctuary and Fleur De Lis Accents dies.
I embellished the card with lace, ribbon, fabric roses and pearls.

I'm entering my card in The Artistic Stamper Creative Team Blog  Ribbons and Lace Challenge.

Ink It Up at the Craft-Room

Another fortnight has gone by and it's time for another challenge at the Craft-Room. Nikki has chosen the theme for the latest challenge and she wants you all to ink your work with rubber/clear stamps, Digi Stamps are not allowed for this challenge.
Our sponsor for this challenge is Rogue Redhead Designs.

I decided to do a canvas for my DT piece.

A couple of weeks ago I watched a demonstration by Helen Chilton at the Craft Barn, she was using bleach to colour her stamping, so I thought I'd give it a go.
I coloured a piece of white card with Kaleidacolor ink by swiping the ink pad onto my mat and spraying it with water. I used PaperArtsy stamps and black Stazon for my images and then I painted the images with thick bleach to take out the colour. The bleach takes away the colour but doesn't affect the Stazon. I used a red and blue coloured pencil to lightly colour part of the boat and the mans cloths. I ripped the edges and coloured them with rusty hinge Distress ink. I embellished my piece with a couple of cogs and chain before adhering it to a canvas that I'd coloured with faded jeans and rusty hinge Distress stain. I coloured a Tando Creative compass with a black acrylic dabber and some silver wax and then adhered it to the canvas.

The rest of the Design Team have done some wonderful samples so please visit the Craft-Room Challenge blog and take a look.

Thank you everyone that entered the Music Challenge, your entries were fabulous. We will announce the winners next week.

I'm entering my piece in the following challenges.
Simon Says Stamp and Show Anything Goes.
Fashionable Stamping Challenge Nautical.
Let's Ink It Up Distressing.
Happy Daze Design Team Challenge  April Showers.

A Sea of Greens

I had a great day at Alexandra Palace on Saturday, met lots of lovely people, watched some great demonstrations and of course spent a little bit of money. Amongst the goodies that I bought were some Pan Pastels. I never thought that I needed them until I saw them being demonstrated, now I'm hooked.
The Artful Times latest challenge theme is A Sea of Greens and as I had two greens in the Pan Pastels that I'd bought I decided to see what I could do with them and this is the result.

I coloured some white card with the paler green Pan Pastel and then I stencilled some Versamark through a lovely Crafters Workshop fern mask and then I carefully went over the Versamark with the darker green Pan Pastel. I sprayed some cheap hairspray over the card to seal the pastels. I edged the card with shabby shutters and forest moss Distress ink. I liked the effect that I'd got so decided to keep the card simple and just added the PaperArtsy sentiment, some flowers and some ribbon that I'd dyed with Distress Stains.
I was very pleased with my first attempt with the pastels but the photo isn't very good, in real life the green is very bright.

Signed Sealed and Delivered

This is my latest DT card for Creative Expressions using the Studio 490/Wendy Vecchi Voice of Art stamp set.

I coloured some white paper with old paper Distress ink and stamped the ledger with coffee Archival ink, I tore the edges and coloured them with vintage photo distress ink. I adhered the paper to a card blank that I'd made with some Woodware brown recycled card. The main image was stamped and embossed and adhered to a piece of the recycled card, I added some string and sealing wax, I also added an old American postage stamp.

The stamps that I used on the background are by Katzelkraft, Crafty Individuals and Innovative Stamp Creations.
The car and sentiment are Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous stamps.

Music Man

It's my turn to choose the theme for this fortnights Craft-Room Challenge and the theme I've chosen is Music.
The sponser for the challenge is Tando Creative.

Before I show you my DT piece I'd like to thank all of you that took part in the Bling Glitter and Sparkle challenge, we had some fabulous entries.

For my DT piece I made a hanging.
I used mountboard for the base and coloured it with various colours of Distress ink and I used a couple of Crafters Workshop masks to give the base a bit of a pattern.
I stamped the poster, G man, guitar and Music Man onto card, cut them out and coloured them with vintage photo Distress ink. The rest of the images were stamped dirictly onto the base.
I painted the Tando Creative chipboard word music and the chipboard music at the bottom with black acrylic paint and attached them to the base.

The stamps that I used are,
PaperArtsy, the one man band, music man and G man.
Hampton art, the jazz band, poster and jazz age.

The Voice of Art

Last week the Creative Expressions Design Team were sent the wonderful Studio 490/Wendy Vecchi The Voice of Art stamp set to work with, this is my first piece using the stamps.

As well as using the Voice of Art stamps I also used the background stamp from Studio 490 Sentimental Art set.
The background was stamped with victorian velvet Distress ink and edged with vintage photo. A few days ago I was watching Ali from Stamps Away on Create and Craft and she was using coffee to colour card so I thought I would have a go. I sprayed water onto a piece of white card and sprinkled some coffee granules onto it and let it dry naturally, when it was dry I stamped the ledger onto it and coloured the edges with vintage photo. The main image was stamped with black Archival ink and cut out.
I embellished the card with some seam binding that I'd dyed with a victorian velvet distress stain, I added a ribbon slider and some gems.

Easter Chick

This is my latest DT piece for Gecko Galz.
The Gecko Galz products that I used are Maddie background paper and the main image is from the Eggs 1 Ephemera sheet, I also used a couple of digi birds.
I adhered the background paper to a piece of mountboard. I printed the main image and then cropped the chick and butterflies and printed them several times so that I could 3D decoupage them. I attached the lace to the image before adhering it to the background,  then I embellished it with flowers and the birds. The words were done on the computer.

Bella Rose

Hi everybody, what a beautiful day - I hope the sun is shining wherever you are. I'd like to say hello and welcome to my new followers and to say hello to the followers that have been with me for awhile, I really do appreciate you wanting to follow me.

This is my latest DT card for Creative Expressions and also my last one using the lovely Heartfelt Creations Bella Rose stamp and die set.
The colour of the roses was inspired by the beautiful roses that my daughter gave me for Mothers Day.

I coloured the rose stamp with Whispers felt tips and wrapped and tied some gold cord around the stems after they had been die cut, the flourish and leaves had been coloured with peeled paint Distress ink.
For the background I put various colours of distress ink onto my craft mat and sprayed with water then I coloured my piece of card. After it was dry I stamped the little rosebud with water to take of some of the colour. I think you can just about make them out.
I added some lace and gold blingy things.

Bling, Glitter and Sparkle.

Time for another Craft-Room Challenge. It's Debi's turn to choose the theme and she has chosen Bling, Glitter and Sparkle.

The sponsor for the challenge is Rare Bird and the prize is a wonderful jewellery kit incorporating Friendly Plastic.

I've made a very simple card using an image from the Gecko Galz Hurray For Hollywood collage sheet.
All the card that I've used is glittered and the spotty vellum across the middle is glittered as well, the glitter doesn't show up very well in the photo.
I used an Art Impressions stamp for the sentiment and embellished with flowers and black gems.

We had a wonderful collection of Shabby/Vintage creations in our last challenge, thank you everyone that entered, we're looking forward to seeing your bling, glittered and sparkling creations for this challenge.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

This card is a DT piece that I made for Gecko Galz using images from the Lucko'the Irish Ephemera sheet, the frame is from the Celebrations Sentiment sheet and I used the Heirloom background paper.

I also used peeled paint Distress ink and an Inkadinkado stamp to decorate a card blank. I printed the frame twice so that I could 3D the banner and I also used bakers twine on the banner. The St Patrick's Day greeting was a freebie from Fripperies and Butterflies that I cut it out and clear embossed.
