Blue and Cream ATCs

Before I share my ATCs with you I'd like to apologise for my lack of commenting on your blogs, I've been trying catch up with you all but I'm so far behind that I don't seem to be able to, but I shall persevere and you should have a visit from me soon.

Now for my ATCs, I've made them for the July swap at KCUK the theme is Cream and Navy. I used cream card and chipped sapphire Distress ink for all three ATCs.

The stamps I used for this one are Crafty Individuals for the background and Stampers Anonymous for the main image.

The stamp for this one is Crafty Individuals.

The stamp for this one is Stampers Anonymous.

The wooden butterfly and clock were coloured with the chipped sapphire and had Distress Stickles added.

Craft-Room Challenge - Picture Inspiration

I can't believe that another fortnight has gone by and it's time for a new Craft-Room Challenge. It's Debi's turn to choose the theme and and she has decided to have a picture inspiration.

Debi's Green Inspiration Picture
Our sponsor for this challenge is the ever generous Crafty Individuals.

I love her picture especially the gorgeous greens, so the inspiration for my DT piece is the colour green and the pink flower on the dress.

I coloured the background with citrus Adirondack brights and shades of green Marvi Blending Blox, then I flicked water onto it and stamped tiny flowers with spun sugar Distress ink.
I stamped the main image with black soot Distress ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I coloured some card with spun sugar and stamped the flowers I also stamped some leaves and coloured them with green pencil. I cut out the flowers and leaves and adhered them and some ribbon to the card. The sentiment was stamped with black soot and embossed.
I used a PaperArtsy stamp for the sentiment and all the other stamps are by Sheena Douglas.

Please take a visit to the Craft-Room Challenge to have a look at the fabulous samples that the rest of the DT have made.

Craft-Room Challenge - Wedding/Anniversary

It's time again for another Craft-Room Challenge and it's the turn of the lovely Mervi to choose the theme and she has chosen Wedding/Anniversary.

Our sponsor for the challenge is The Stamp Man.

                                 The Stamp Man

For my DT piece I've made an Anniversary card.

I used ripe persimmon Distress reinker with water for the background and stamped some poppies in the top right hand corner. I added a strip of striped paper from the Prima Time Traveller paper set. The ribbon is a strip of white material that I dyed with the ripe persimmon reinker and I added some gold thread. I stamped and embossed the image and coloured it with watercolour pencils. I used a peel off for the sentiment.
The stamp I used for the main image is Indigo Blu poppy heart and the stamps on the background are Elusive Images/Chocolate Baroque stamps.

Tim's July Tag

Here is the tag that I've made for the July Tim Holtz Twelve Tags of 2014 - you can see Tim's tag here. I didn't have all the supplies but managed to keep it as close to Tim's tag with the things that I had.

This is the finnished tag.

This is the background'

I didn't have the dies that Tim used so I stamped the seahorse and drew the sand dollar and starfish then cut them out.

I used most of the things that Tim used but not the same colours, the things that are different from Tim's are
Seahorse and sand dollar.
Cuttlebug embossing folder.
Memory Box lorelai leaf die.
Metal charm.
Pee Wee glitter in the sand.
Ribbon.

My Box Is Finished At Last

Last year I was in the Andy Skinner club at the Craft Barn, over the year we learn't lots of different techniques using DecoArt products. Over the last three or four months we had a large 30cm x 30cm Artimio box to decorate. Of course me being me didn't get it finished, so a couple of months ago I decided to finish it. When I got it out of the bag I decided that I didn't like the colours that I'd used so after a few new coats of paint and a bit of dry brushing I finally had a box that I could live with.

This is what the box looked like minus the panel in the lid.

This is the lid. I adhered flowers and metal charms to one corner, I stencilled modelling paste through a mask on the edges and for the inner part of the box I used a Sizzix die to die cut some thick card and added some chipboard letters. Then everything was painted.
I enlarged a Gecko Galz image and adhered it to some mountboard. I then covered it with Crackle Paint and adhered it to the lid when the crackle had dried.

Here is a close up of the corner of the lid.

Here is a close up of the crackle.

A couple of photos of the sides.

And finally the inside of the box. I'm going to use the box as a memory box, so I adhered some photos to the inside of the lid, they are photos of my mum and dad, my grandparents, sister and aunt, sadly they are not with me any more - I'm the only one left. I'm in some of the photos and that's me at the top - I must have been about 18 months - 2 years. I've got lots of spaces left so I'll fill them with more photos.

I'd like to enter my box in the following challenges
Rhedds Creative Spirit - Altered Art Only
Altered Eclectics - Altered Art
