Queen Of Hearts

I cheated a bit with this journal page, I've used a topper that I made for a valentines card for my husband a few years ago, I make him a card every year but I'm sure if I gave him the same one every year he wouldn't notice.

I'm linking my page to the Art Journal Journey challenge - If Music Be The Food Of Love.

The only thing that I can remember about what I used on the topper is that the image is a Crafty Individuals stamp and everything was coloured with distress ink.
I painted the background with gesso and stencilled some hearts with modelling paste. When the paste was dry I sprayed some creme de chocolat Glimmer Mist and let it run down the page, when this was dry I then sprayed some turquoise blue Glimmer Mist and let that run down the page. I stamped round the edge with a Dina Wakley swirly stamp and some white distress paint, it doesn't show up very well - you can just about see it at the bottom. The last thing I did was to add a little bit of music tissue tape.

Have a lovely day.
xxx Hazel.

  7. I love your heart related image today. My favorite parts are the light blue color and those 2 little pins. Funny how 2 little metal pieces really pull the page together. And definitely watch those new X Files episodes!

  11. Gosh, that's a stamp I haven't used for years, must get it out. A lovely page Hazel, love all the layers. My OH doesn't mention the fact that he hasn't sent or received a card for years.
