Gala Event.

Before I show my latest DT card for Creative Expressions I'd like to apologise for the lack of commenting for the last couple of weeks, I hope to visit your blogs to play catch up over the weekend.

For my card I've used the lovely Creative Expressions Gala Event stamp set.

I layered some gold card and gold angel hair onto a white card blank then I added a white die cut frame that I'd cut with my Cricut with the Iron Works cartridge. I stamped the gorgeous dress and sentiment with Indigo Blu flitter glue and lancashire rose guilding flakes. I matted the image onto some gold card and adhered it to the card together with some flowers and pearl sprays from my stash.

My First Digital Layout

A couple of Christmas's ago I was bought the Sefif CraftArtist programme so that I could have a go at digital crafting. I never played with it properly until about three weeks ago, this is the layout that I made.

I used different elements from a few of the digi kits that came with the programme and I'm really pleased with my first attempt. I found it very relaxing to do and can create on my laptop in the evening whilst watching TV. It wont ever take over from playing with paper and inks though.

Buttons and Bows

It's time for another Craft-Room Challenge and it's the talented Debi who has chosen the theme this fortnight and she has chosen Buttons and Bows.

At the Craft Barn Extravaganza the other week I watched Jean Hardy from Crafty Individuals demonstrating with Transfer Artist Paper, so I spent my money and decided to try it out on my card.
I edged my card blank with victorian velvet and aged mahogany Distress Ink. I adhered a piece of Kraft Resist paper and some lace. I stamped the image onto the Transfer Artist Paper and transfered it onto my piece of material with a hot Iron. I frayed the edges and adhered it to the card. I embellished the card with ribbon and buttons. I made the heart by melting some friendly plastic into a heart mould. The stamp that I used is by Crafty Individuals. For the sentiment I used a stamp from Sam Poole's Art Sayings.

Our sponsor for the challenge is the lovely Liz Welch from Rarebird and the prize for the challenge is a fabulous Friendly Plastic kit.

I hope you have fun with the challenge and I'm looking forward to seeing your creations. Why not visit the Craft-Room to see what the rest of the talented Design Team have made.

Rosie

My latest DT project for Creative Expressions is a card using Sam Poole's Butterfly Girl and Bubble Wrap stamp sets, I also used Sam Poole's Art Phrases.

I edged a white card blank with victorian velvet and aged mahogany Distress inks. For the background I inked the rose stamp with two shades of pink Whispers felt tips and stamped it over some white card, then I stamped the bubblewrap with victorian velvet and peeled paint Distress ink. I coloured enough card to stamp the butterfly girl and cut out her dress. I stamped the girl onto some white card and masked her so that I could stamp the dots then I edged the card with victorian velvet and aged mahogany. I coloured the girl with felt tips and adhered the patterned dress that I'd cut out earlier. I stamped her again onto pink vellum and cut out the wings and adhered them to the girl. The seam binding was coloured with victorian velvet Distress stain and left wrinkled. The leaves were stamped and coloured with peeled paint. I used a Marianne Design flower die to make the roses out of the same vellum that I'd used for the wings.

I'm entering my card in the Crazy Amigo Free Theme Challenge.

Distressed Summer/Nature ATCs

Distressed Summer/Nature is the theme for the July Paperplay group ATC swap.
The backgrounds for my ATCs were inked up ages ago and I can't remember what inks and colours I used.

Dragonfly ATC. I stamped ferns [unknown] on the ATC and stamped flowers [ Stamp Bug] with acrylic paint, I also used a crackle stamp [Tattered Angels]. I used a Dreamweaver dragonfly brass stencil with some Dreamweaver Crackle Embossing Paste. I was going to put some colour on the dragonfly when it dried, but decided to leave it as I liked the way the wet paste had soaked up some of the background colour. I edged the ATC with stormy sky Distress ink.
Fern ATC. This was made exactly the same way as the dragonfly except that I used a Crafters Workshop fern stencil and I added a small leaf charm.

Bumble Bee ATC. I stamped the small bee [Stampotique] onto the ATC and scraped some acrylic paint over it. When the paint was dry I stamped the sequin waste [The Artistic Stamper] with spiced marmalade Distress ink. The large Bee [Stampotique] was stamped onto white card and coloured with the spiced marmalade. After I cut it out I added Stickles to the wings and adhered it to the ATC.

Rose ATC. The background stamps that I used are by The Stamp Bug and Tattered Angels. I used a Dreamweaver Rose brass stencil with the Dreamweaver Crackle Embossing Paste. I embellished it with a Tando Creative mini butterfly embossed with Frantage shabby pink embossing enamel.

I'm entering my ATCs in the Simon Says Stamp and Show No Rules challenge.

Mondays Child.

This is an 8"x8" layout that I've made using the Gecko Galz July products.

The Gecko Galz products that I used are an image from the Mondays Child collage sheet, Mermaid Lagoon background paper and  the banners from the B is for banners sheet.
I adhered the background paper to a piece of 8"x 8" yellow card. Using my Cricut Expression and the Ornamental Iron cartridge I cut a fancy frame with white card and I coloured it with squeezed lemonade Distress ink then adhered it to the layout. The lovely image was matted onto some turquoise card. I added lace flowers and ribbon. For the turquoise ribbon I machine stitched down the middle of some seem binding then I pulled on the thread to gather it, I then coloured the gathered ribbon with peacock feathers distress stain. I stuck black letters onto the banners and then attached them to some cord.

Bling It On Twinchies

The theme for the July UK Stampers twinchie swap is Bling It On, these are the twinchies that I've made.

I coloured the backgrounds with Dylusions ink and stamped the Crafty Individuals images with black Archival  onto white card, I cut them out and adhered them to the backgrounds. For the bling I used some sticky backed gem corners that I've had in my stash for years.

I'm entering my twinchies in the challenge at Out Of The Hat Creations who's theme this week happens to be twinchies.

Modes of Transport

The latest Challenge at Artful Times is Modes of Transport. For my card I've used the lovely bus on the  Stamps Away Pilkington Transport 1 stamp set. I've also used the Creative Expressions Plaid stamp and the small bus is an Artemio stamp.

The inks that I've used are fired brick and broken china Distress ink and black Archival. I edged a white card blank with the distress inks and then adhered a piece of Idea-Ology Kraft Resist paper to it. I attached some ribbon and stapled the small buses. I stamped the plaid pattern with the Distress inks and adhered it to the card. The bus was stamped with black Archival and water coloured with fired brick. I used my Dymo machine to make the Happy Birthday.

I'm entering my card in the following challenges
Artful Times challenge Modes of Transport.
Simon Says Stamp and Show some Layers.

Zebra Card

This is one of my latest DT pieces for Gecko Galz.

I used an image from the Vintage Travel collage sheet and the Sunshine Day background paper.
After printing the background paper I changed it's colour to orange and printed a copy.
I covered a card blank with the orange paper, then I embossed the zebra skin with a Dreamweaver zebra texture stencil and went over the raised areas with some black ink, then I matted it onto some black card. I cut a circle from the yellow paper using a Spellbinders circle die. The main image was matted onto black card. I stamped the zebra with black Archival and cut it out. I strung some beads and attached them to the card.
I have no idea what make the stamps are that I used.

Rose ATC

I've made an ATC for my latest Creative Expressions DT piece. I used Sam Pool's lovely Butterfly Girl stamp set and the sentiment is from the Studio 490/Wendy Vecchi Sentimental Art stamp set.

I stamped the background with salty ocean and bundled sage Distress ink and the roses were stamped with shades of pink Marvi Blending Blox. The blue flourish and sentiment were stamped with french ultramarine Archival ink. I'd coloured the card that the sentiment is on by dragging the Marvi shades of pink over some white card. I stamped the butterfly girl onto some shrink plastic with black Stazon and stamped the roses and spots with fuchsia pink Stazon, masking the image before stamping. I coloured her with coloured pencils, cut her out leaving a large border round her and shrunk her with my heat gun. I adhered everything to the ATC, the sentiment was attached with sticky pads so that I could add some tiny roses behind it.

The theme for the UK Stampers July ATC swap is Roses so I've made three of my ATCs to join in the swap.

Craft-Room Sport

Another fortnight has gone by so it's time for another Craft-Room Challenge. The new challenge is Sport and it has been chosen by Mervi.
For my DT card I have chosen the world of golf. The stamps that I used are
La Pashe Flippin' Stamps.
Funstamps Tee Time.
I sponged the edge of a white card blank with walnut stain Distress ink and then coloured some white card with faded jeans, I stamped the background images with stormy sky and then adhered it to the card blank, then I adhered some hessian to the card. The two images were stamped with coffee Archival ink and coloured with stormy sky, mowed lawn, festive berries and vintage photo Distress inks using a water brush..

Our sponsor for the challenge is  Tanda Stamps

Thank you everyone that entered the Friendship challenge, we had some lovely entries, I hope you can enter our Sports challenge. If you need inspiration pop over to the Craft-Room to have a look at the lovely work that the rest of the DT has done.

Christmas In July

I've gone all Christmassy for my Creative Expressions DT card this week using Sam Poole's Butterfly Girl and Bubblewrap stamps.

The inks that I used on the card are festive berries and mowed lawn Distress ink and black Archival. I stamped the bubble wrap stamp and spotty stamp onto a piece of white card and cut a piece to fit a red card blank, I also stamped the birds on the piece of card that was left and  cut them out. I stamped the zig zag stitch on the edge of the card. I covered the birds and card with Crystal Ice Stickles, I like the way the stickles made the distress ink run, when it was dried I added a ribbon and then adhered it to the card blank. I stamped the spots onto white card, wrapped some red thread round it, matted it onto a piece of red card and adhered it to the card blank, then I attached the birds. The greetings is a stamp from the Sam Poole's Winter Wonderland stamp set. This is a very glittery card but my photo isn't very good and doesn't show it.
Below is another version of the card without the stickles.

June Swaps

It seems ages since I blogged anything so to make up for it I'm going to share two things with you that I made for a couple of June swaps.

KCUK Red White and Blue Tag swap.

I stamped the background with faded jeans Distress ink and stamped the little bus with red Colour Box ink. The flag was stamped onto white card with medeterranean blue Brilliance ink and red Colour Box ink, the London was stamped with black Archival, I then cut it out and attached it to the tag. The telephone box was stamped with Versamark, embossed with red powder, cut out and attached to the tag. The guard was stamped with black archival, coloured with a red felt tip, cut out and attached to the tag. I stapled some ribbon to the tag.
The stamps that I used are.
The Artistic Stamper for the background and London.
Artemio for the rest of the stamps.

UK Stampers Twinchie Swap

We had to show a little red heart on our twinchies, I cut mine out with the Cricut Accent Essentiaals cartridge.
I coloured the background with Dylusions spray and embossed the stamped image with black powder. I went round the edges with peacock feathers Distress ink. I used crackle glaze on the hearts and adhered them to the twinchies when dry.
The stamps I used are Elusive Images [Chocolate Baroque].
