A Vintage Christmas

It's time for another Craft-Room Challenge, Mervi is the hostess and as Christmas is only a month away she would like to see some vintage style Christmas cards or presents.

Our sponsor for the challenge is Rogue Redhead.

I've made a card for my DT piece.

I wrapped some ribbon round some Gecko Galz holly background paper and adhered it to a card blank. The image was stamped with walnut stain Distress ink and adhered to a square doily. The holly leaves were covered with Ice Stickles before I put them on the card, then I added some red beads. I adhered some die cut icicles and covered then with the stickles, I also put some stickles on the image.

Items used
Personal Impressions - the stamped image.
Sizzix Holly Branch die.
Marianne Designs Icicle die.

The rest of the design team have made some fabulous samples and would love you to visit the Craft-Room Challenge to take a look.

Get Those Embossing Folders Out

The latest challenge at Artful Times is to use two or more embossing folders so I've made a card using three.

I started by embossing the edge of my card with a Sizzix/Alterations butterfly die, I sponged distress ink over the butterflies. I adhered paper from my stash. I used a Cuttlebug happy birthday folder to emboss some Kraft-Core card and I sanded the raised bits. Next I used some Distress ink to ink my Cuttlebug rose folder before embossing the card. I cut it to size and tied some ribbon round it. For the butterfly I used a Marianne die and added a large gem.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges.

Valentine

It's the first challenge of the year at the Craft-Room, the theme for the challenge is Valentines and it has been chosen by Nikki.
Before I show you my card I'd like to thank you all for entering the tag challenge, the entries were fabulous and I'm going to find it very hard to choose my top three.

Our sponsor for the challenge is Crafty Individuals.

I coloured a white card blank with peacock feathers Distress ink. I decided that it was too strong a colour for what I wanted so I adhered some white lace round the edges of the card.
I coloured a Sizzex Alterations embossing folder with peacock feathers and wild honey Distress ink and then embossed some white card. I coloured the edges of the embossed card with vintage photo.
Using a Heart Squares Spellbinders die I cut two squares.
For the image I used a Crafty Individuals stamp masking the face before colouring it with wild honey.
I used a Marianne die for the hearts.
I embellished the card with a couple of pins and some seam binding that I coloured with peacock feathers.

The rest of the Design Team have made some fabulous samples so why not visit the Craft-Room to take a look,

Rosie

My latest DT project for Creative Expressions is a card using Sam Poole's Butterfly Girl and Bubble Wrap stamp sets, I also used Sam Poole's Art Phrases.

I edged a white card blank with victorian velvet and aged mahogany Distress inks. For the background I inked the rose stamp with two shades of pink Whispers felt tips and stamped it over some white card, then I stamped the bubblewrap with victorian velvet and peeled paint Distress ink. I coloured enough card to stamp the butterfly girl and cut out her dress. I stamped the girl onto some white card and masked her so that I could stamp the dots then I edged the card with victorian velvet and aged mahogany. I coloured the girl with felt tips and adhered the patterned dress that I'd cut out earlier. I stamped her again onto pink vellum and cut out the wings and adhered them to the girl. The seam binding was coloured with victorian velvet Distress stain and left wrinkled. The leaves were stamped and coloured with peeled paint. I used a Marianne Design flower die to make the roses out of the same vellum that I'd used for the wings.

I'm entering my card in the Crazy Amigo Free Theme Challenge.
