A Gothic Romance

I'm hosting the challenge at Art Journal Journey this month and the theme I've chosen is If Music Be The Food Of Love. We've had a lot of wonderful entries, so if you have a few moments to spare why not go and take a look or enter the challenge.

I've been a fan of Matthew Bourne's since I first saw his Swan Lake where all the swans are men. I've been to see a few of his ballets but have only seen his Sleeping Beauty on film so when I found out it was on at Sadler's Wells over Christmas and New Year I knew I had to go. I wasn't disappointed - it was amazing and so romantic.

For my journal page I photocopied the flyer for the show and cut out some of the images.

I painted the pages with black gesso and stamped the La Blanche rose with VersaMagic ink. I wrote the words with a white Sharpie pen.

Thank you for looking, have a lovely day.
xxx Hazel.

  6. Hazel, I have never managed to attend the ballet and to see his production of Swan Lake, with all male ballet dancers, that is something I wish I could have seen.
This is really beautiful, you achieved wonderful depth.

  10. You've created a beautiful page to celebrate a night to remember. You've also made me miss the major theater productions my wife and I used to watch when we were living in a metropolitan area. Thanks for your recent visit and blessings!
