Stencils and Masks

Stencils and Masks is the theme for the latest Craft-Room Challenge and it has been chosen by Esther.

We are sponsored by Stamp Addicts who are giving the lucky random winner a £10 voucher to spend in their store.

For the main image I used a Sweet Poppy Stencil. I stencilled some coloured ink onto some white card and then spread some Dreamweaver translucent embossing paste over it. When the paste dried I coloured the card with distress ink and splashed some water over it. I matted this onto some orange card. I coloured the background with some distress ink and stencilled some butterflies. I added some wooden butterflies that I'd coloured with distress ink and embossed with some clear embossing powder.

The rest of the Design Team have made some lovely samples and they would love you all to visit the Craft-Room Challenge to take a look.

Every Inchie Monday - Thunderstorm

I hope everyone is safe after the storms last night. We had very strong winds about 5am - 7am. We have no damage but our cast iron garden furniture was blown across the lawn.

The theme for this weeks Every Inchie Monday Challenge is Thunderstorm.

I used distress inks to colour the background and scribbled some trees at the bottom.

Darling Birdie Card

Matt the image onto some black card and layer it and some Gecko Galz background papers onto a card blank. I edged the card with some black soot Distress Ink using my finger. Add the ribbon, a couple of skeleton leaves and some paper roses.

Decoupaged Framed Bird

Paint the wooden frame with some dark blue acrylic paint, when it's dry cover with Fresco Finnish Crackle Glaze and when this is dry paint with a turquoise acrylic paint, it should crackle as the paint dries. Adhere leaves and flowers to the frame, it doesn't matter what colour they are, using your finger touch parts of the flowers with Treasure Pewter and then spray the flowers and bottom of the frame with green and gold mica sprays. When everything is dry adhere a piece of Gecko Galz background paper inside the frame. Print the image three times, matt one of the images onto some blue card, cut the oval from one of the other images and adhere to the main image with foam pads, cut out the bird from the last image and adhere to the main image with foam pads. Adhere to the inside of the frame.

Song Bird Card

Distress the edges of the image.  Sponge the edges of the image and some Gecko Galz background paper with aged mahogany Distress ink and layer them onto a card blank. Stamp some twigs on the right edge of the card, adhere the sentiment, lace and pearls to the card. Emboss a wooden bird with some Frantage embossing enamel and adhere to the card.

 Bird Song Tag

Paint the tag with acrylic paint and then adhere a piece of book page to it. Using a leafy mask, stencil some modelling past onto the tag and paint green when dry. Distress the edge of the image and some Gecko Galz background paper then colour the edges with stormy sky Distress ink, adhere to the tag. Put a strip of tissue tape to the bottom of the tag and add some lace. Add some flowers and ribbon.

Now  you are ready to go to the next blog site and see what wonderful treats await you there. Just click the name  to be whisked away to their blog!

Inchie - Dispute

Dispute is this weeks theme for the  Every Inchie Monday challenge. I had to put my thinking cap on for this one and ended up with two little girls fighting over a doll.

I used an Invoke Arts stamp for the doll.

I didn't get round to posting the last two weeks inchies so here they are now.

Our Feathered Friends

I'm standing in for Julia this fortnight at the Craft-Room Challenge as she is still away and Our Feathered Friends is the theme I have chosen for the challenge.

Crafty Individuals are our sponsors for the challenge.

For my DT piece I've used a Crafty Individuals stamp, No CI-289.

I started with a kraft card blank and a Crafters Workshop Mask. The main image was stamped and coloured with Distress ink, I stamped another image and coloured the chickens, then I cut them out and adhered them to the main image. I matted the image onto a piece of paper straw. I wrapped some bakers twine around the top of the card and added a flower that I'd made using my flower loom.

The rest of the DT team have made some lovely samples and they would love you to visit the Craft-Room Challenge to take a look.

I'm entering this in the Crafty Individuals October challenge - I'm hoping that the colours are Autumnal.

Tags

I'm sharing with you a couple of tags that I made for the Paper Play September swap, the theme was Anything Goes.

For both tags I used a Stampers Anonymous mask and modelling paste, when the paste had dried I painted the card with Fresco Finish paint and  added some Treasure Pewter then I stamped some script with black Archival. I stamped the main images onto white card, cut them out and adhered them to the tags with some crinkle kraft paper. The stamps I used for the main images are Inkylicious.

Spooky Coffin

I'd like to share with you my Halloween Coffin done the Andy Skinner way, I had a lot of fun making it.

I used Tando Creative products plus some plastic spiders and skelleton, I also added other bits and bobs to give it a bit of texture.

After putting the coffin together I painted it with black gesso and adhered the rest of the bits onto it. I used DecoArt paints to colour it and when the paints were dry I added some Treasure Brass and some varnish.

Here is a photo of the inside of the box.

I'd like to enter my coffin in the following challenges.

Macabre Monday Dimensional Halloween.
Altered Eclectics Always Anything Altered.
Country View Crafts Something Spooky.
Craft Mojo Halloween.
Tando Creative Spook It.
Try It On Tuesday Textures.

Craft-Room Challenge - ATCs

Another fortnight has flown by and it's time for another Craft-Room Challenge. It's Maria's turn to choose the challenge and she would like you all to make an ATC or a group of ATCs.

Our sponsor for the challenge is Tando Creative.

One lucky person drawn at random will get a wonderful package from Tando.

These are the ATCs that I've made for a recent ATC swap, the theme is Houses.

For the background I used distress stains, a Finnabair mask and Fresco Finish paint and some Frantage chunky white embossing enamel. I used an Invoke Arts stamp for the house and I stamped it onto some card that I coloured ages ago.

I used Dylusions and Distress ink for the background and added some Frantage shabby white embossing enamel. I stamped the PaperArtsy house onto white card and coloured it with Smirk glitter pens, I cut it out and adhered it to the ATC and added some gems.

For this ATC I stamped the Panduro/Tilda stamp onto some white card and coloured it with watercolour pencils, then I adhered it to the red ATC

The rest of the Design Team have made some lovely samples and they would love you to visit the Craft-Room to take a look.
