Welcome To My World

This month the Creative Expressions DT have Sam Poole's Butterfly Girl and Bubblewrap stamps to work with. I made a card for my first piece using the stamps.

I distressed the edges of some blue card and attached it to a card blank, I stamped the little spotty pattern onto some pink paper using broken china Distress ink, I used the ink to colour the edges. I sanded some blue card to take of the blue and show some of the white core, then I stamped it with the small flower and attached some pink ribbon. I stamped butterfly girl onto card and cut her out, I also stamped her onto pink paper and cut out the dress and stamped it with the spotty stamp before adhering it to the cut out image. I coloured the wings blue and covered them with stickles. For the three flowers I stamped the large rose nine times and used three for each flower. I cut one of the images full size, the next one I cut a bit smaller and the last one I cut even smaller. I crumpled each cutout flower before adhering to each other to make one flower. I hope that makes sense.

I didn't use the bubblewrap this time but for the sentiment I used Sam Poole's Art Sayings.

I coloured a card blank with faded jeans Distress ink and then distressed the edges. I tore and then coloured the edges of some patterned paper from my stash, then I attached some beads that I'd threaded onto cotton. I stamped the images and sentiments with black Archival onto white card and then coloured them with faded jeans, then I matted them onto card.
All the stamps are Crafty Individuals.

Oh I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside.

The theme for the June ATC swap on the Paperplay forum is At The Seaside/Beach, these are the ATCs that I've made.

For the background I brayered clam shell, lake, blueberry, pumpkin and sunflower Eco Green acrylic paint onto some card. I stamped the main images onto some card, coloured them with Promarkers and cut them out. I adhered some orange material then the images to the ATCs. I stamped the postmark and added the sentiments and a few small shells.
The stamps that I used are
Creative Expressions for the main images.
Crafty Individuals for the postmark and sentiments.

I 'm entering the ATCs in the Artful Times challenge, Oh I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside.

Card For A Man

The latest challenge at Artful Times is men so I've made a card for a nephew who's birthday is in August, I shall probably put it somewhere safe and forget where I've put it.

The stamps that I used are Stamps Away Pilkington Transport for the tractor and the words are by Katzelkraft.
I edged a white card blank with walnut stain Distress ink then matted some gingham paper onto it. I embossed the cogs with a texture fade and coloured it with walnut stain, scattered straw, barn door and vintage photo Distress ink, then I matted it onto red card and added the ruler ribbon. The tractor was stamped in black and coloured with the same colours as the embossed cogs. I matted this onto red card. I embellished the card with some metal cogs attached with brads and added the stamped words.

I'm also going to enter my card in the Do You Stack Up challenge, their theme is Boys/Men.

Steampunk Card

Ive gone all steampunk this week for my Creative Expressions DT card. I've used Sam Poole's Art Sayings stamps together with the Eco Green Steampunk Accessories 1 stamp set.

I covered a card blank with some blue paper and stamped some of the Eco Green stamps over it with walnut stain Distress ink, then I distressed the edges and edged with walnut stain.
I adhered some aluminium foil to a piece of card and embossed it with a Texture Fade, then I covered it in black acrylic paint and wiped of the excess before it dried. I then coloured it with ultramarine and timber brown Stazon. I coloured the main image with stormy sky, vintage photo and walnut stain Distress ink and wrapped some wire round it. I stamped a couple of the stamps onto the aluminium covered card with black Stazon, cut them out and adhered them to the card together with some cogs, game spinner and the words.

Furry Four Legged Family

Thank you everyone that joined in with our Birthday Blog Hop, we had some fabulous entries. I don't envy Julia having to choose her top three. I'll be putting names into my hat this week and will draw out the winner of my prize and I'll announce the winner next Tuesday June 19th.

The theme for the latest Craft Room Challenge is Our Furry Four Legged Family and this has been chosen by Zoe. The sponsor for the challenge is Tando Creative.

I have a cat and a couple of dogs at home and couldn't decide what to use on my card, then I remembered that one of my favourite stamps is a cat stamp by The Artistic Stamper, so I decided to use this on my DT card.

I covered a square card blank with two coordinating papers, then after rounding the corners I went round the edge with walnut stain Distress ink.
The latest Just Us Girls challenge is an acrylic distress technique challenge. I must say I enjoyed this doing this technique and will definitely be doing it again. I embossed some card with a Cuttlebug embossing folder, then I painted it with clam shell Eco Green acrylic paint, when it was dry I sanded the paint of the embossing and then sponged walnut stain over the top and removed the excess with a damp cloth. They have a tutorial on this technique on the JUG's blog.
The cat was stamped onto patterned paper with coffee Archival ink, then diecut and matted onto a larger diecut piece of card that I edged with walnut stain. I stamped the meow but have no idea who made the stamp. I embellished the card with ribbon, silver charm and flowers from my stash.

I'm entering my card in the following challenges.
Just Us Girls Acrylic distress technique challenge.
St Luke's Charity Challenge Our Little Furry Friends
Simon Says Stamp And Show Anything Goes

I'm looking forward to looking at your creations, the rest of the Design Team have made some lovely samples so why not pop over the the Craft Room to have a look.

More ATCs

Last month at KCUK the ATC swap theme was Butterflies and Dragonflies and these are what I made.

I coloured the background with Brilliance and Distress ink. I stamped some images but sorry I don't know who made them.
The butterflies were stamped with a Hobby Art stamp onto card that had been coloured with Dylusions spray.I cut them out and covered them with Clear Rock Candy Distress Stickles. The words were stamped onto velum.

Face ATCs

Last month the Paperplay group had an ATC swap and the theme was Faces, these are the ATCs that I made.

The stamp that I used was a freebie from the Craft Stamper magazine and I coloured them with felt tip pens. I matted the images onto some gold card and cut it at odd angles. For the background I used card that I'd coloured ages ago. I also used some paper that was free in a magazine and the words are from the same free paper.

Inspire and Create

This week I've made a card for my latest Creative Expressions DT piece. I've used Sam Poole's Art Sayings stamps together with the background stamp from Studio 490/Wendy Vecchi Sentimental Art set.
Before I show you my card I'd like to mention that Creative Expressions has a new News Blog, so if you want to keep up with all the latest news from Creative Expressions you can find the blog here.

The only ink that I've used is peacock feathers Distress Ink and Reinker.
I started by matting a piece of turquoise card onto a white card blank, then I inked the edges and then distressed the edges.
I stamped the main image onto card and cut it into three pieces, I matted these onto turquoise card, then I matted them onto some spotty card from my stash and then I matted this onto the main card.
I dyed some seam binding with a blob of reinker spritzed with water. I left the binding wrinkled and adhered some to the card.
I used a Spellbinders die to cut the spotty flower, the other two flowers are from my stash. I coloured them and covered them with ice stickles, it  doesn't really show in the photo that the flower is very glittery, when the stickles had dried I layered the flowers, attached a gem to the centre, then adhered it to the card with a couple of leaves that I'd cut with a die from the Heartfelt Creations Bella Rose set, then I added the words.

Vintage Vamps Tags

More work using images from Gecko Galz. This time I have used images from the Vintage Vamps collage set and the tags are from the Tag Your It set.

I printed the tags and didn't do anything to them apart from adding the images and embellishments.

After printing the images I distressed the edges and edged them with vintage photo Distress ink.

I embellished the tags with Tissue Tape, lace, flowers, beads, ribbon and a doily.

I'm entering the top tag into the
Artful Times Ribbon and Lace Challenge.

Fathers Day Cards

The June collage sheets over at Gecko Galz include a set called Man O Man, I have used this set to make my Fathers Day cards.
At the moment Gecko Galz have a sale on, if you buy a set of collage sheets you get another set free - so why not pop over there to take a look.

As well as using images from the Man O Man collage set I used a background paper called Noel from one of the Christmas sets and some Kraft card. I layered the papers onto a brown card blank.
I distressed the edges of the images and crumpled them up before matting onto brown card. I embossed a chipboard car shape with gold embossing powder and attached the sentiment. Lastly I attached some chain with brads.
I'm entering this card in the
Stamp Man  Make It For A Man Challenge.

I made this card with the Man O Man collage set and also used background paper from the Gypsy collection and a piece of Sonnet background Paper.

Birds Nest Pendant.

It was my friends birthday a couple of weeks ago and I made her some jewellery for her gift.

I made the birds nest by threading three beads onto some wire and then wrapping the wire round to make the nest, then I added the bird. I attached a chain that I made with some jump rings and beads and them made some earrings to match.

Here is a closeup of the nest.

I also made her a bangle by wrapping wire and then adding beads.

Garden Chic Tag and ATC

I've made a tag and an ATC for my Creative Expressions DT work this week. I've used the Sam Poole Art Sayings stamp set together with the Eco Green Garden Chic stamp set.

For the background I used the new spring colour Distress Ink set and dusty concord for the stamping, for the rest of the stamping I used black Archival. I covered the main image and chipboard bird with stickles.

I used the same inks, stamp sets and stickles for the ATC.
