Craft-Room Challenge - Cats

Christi is known to some as the crazy cat woman [she has five] so it's no surprise that the theme she has chosen for the latest Craft-Room Challenge is Cats.

The prize comes from one of our fabulous sponsors, The Stamp Man.

For my DT piece I've used the very handsome Tiddles [Stamps Away stamp], I'm not sure that he looks like a Tiddles but that's the name they gave him.

I used a mono print for the background and stamped the paw prints around the edge.
I stamped Tiddles onto white card with black soot distress ink and embossed it before it dried with clear embossing powder, I coloured him with felt tips and a water brush. I used a corner punch on the corners and then matted him onto black card.
For the black cat I used a Sizzix/Alterations die.
I'm not sure what stamp company made the paw prints and meow.

My Craft-Room teamies have made some lovely projects and would love you all to take a look.

Humour

Good morning and Welcome to the latest Craft-Room Challenge. It's Mervi's turn to choose the challenge and as it's April Fools Day she has chosen Humour for the challenge theme.

Our sponsor for the challenge is The Stamp Man

For my DT piece I made some fridge magnets using blank coasters - if you prefer they could be made into coasters instead of fridge magnets by giving them two to three coats of varnish at the end of decorating them.

I've used some of my Gelli backgrounds for all the magnets. I'm not sure who made the background stamps.

Stamps and sentiment are from a Murray and Ethel stamp set by Creative Expressions.

I think the stamps on this magnet are made by Designs Ink'd.

Here are the magnets on my fridge.

The rest of the DT have made some fabulous makes to make you smile and they would love you to visit them at the Craft-Room

Afternoon Tea

Another fortnight has flown by and it's time for another Craft-Room Challenge, It's Suzannes turn to choose the theme and she has chosen the theme Afternoon Tea. Here's what she has to say about her challenge.

My challenge then is a bit of a change - I thought I would give you a choice!  There is a photo inspiration with the title of:-
Afternoon Tea!

So create anything crafty to do with Afternoon Tea or any inspiration drawn from the photograph please!

We are sponsored by "The Stamp Man" and the Winner will get £10 to spend at their online shop.

For my DT piece I have made a card.

I started with a white card blank and edged it with blue ink then I adhered a piece of Crafty Individuals paper. I stamped the teapot and masked it then I coloured the card pink and stamped the leaves. I removed the mask and coloured the teapot with coloured pencils. I matted this onto some blue card then I adhered it to the card blank. I added the ribbon, charm and some pearls. The teacups were stamped onto white card and coloured with the pencils, I then cut it out and adhered it to the card.
The stamps I used are
Inkidinkido for the leafy background
Crafty Individuals for the main image.

Something New

Another fortnight has flown by and it's time for another Craft-Room Challenge the theme is Something New and it has been chosen by the lovely Debi, this is what she has to say about why she chose the theme.

For my theme I got thinking..... and  if you're anything like me, you either have a heap of new stash still waiting to be used, or your Pinterest Boards are full of techniques that you want to try but just haven't got round to it yet lol.  So I thought lets have a challenge that might get us using some new stash or a new technique.

Our sponsor is The Stampman.

I decided to alter a canvas using some beeswax that I'd bought a few months ago and never used, I also used an Andy Skinner skull mask for the first time. The image and background paper are from the Gecko Galz August products.

Products

Image from the Gecko Galz The Art of Waterhouse Collage Sheet.
Background Paper from the Gecko Galz Life’s a Circus Paper Set.
Canvas.
Beeswax.
Melt Pot.
PaperArtsy Script Stamp.
Tissue Paper.
Black Archival Inkpad.
Dreamweaver Gold Embossing Paste.
Crafters Workshop Harlequin Mask.
Andy Skinner Skull Mask.
Star Sequin Waste.
Lace.
Olive Bronze Treasure Gold Gilding Wax.
Acrylic Paint.
Heat Gun.

I painted the canvas with the acrylic paint and stamped the script onto the tissue paper with black Archival ink.
I melted the wax in my melt pot and brushed some wax over the surface of the canvas, then I lay the background paper over the canvas and brushed some of the wax over it then I did the same with the image and tissue paper.
I then stencilled the skull, stars and harlequin using the gold embossing paste.
When the paste has dried I brushed some wax over the surface and smoothed the surface with myheat gun.  I then let some of the wax drip on the edges – when the drips of wax had set I went over them with the gilding wax using my finger. The last thing I did was to polish the surface with a soft cloth.

Thank you everyone that entered the Bingo challenge, Mervi will have a difficult time choosing her top three.

Have a visit to the Craft-Room Challenge Blog to have a look at the lovely samples that the DT have made.

Craft Room Challenge - Stamp Your Own Background

Thank you everyone that entered their fabulous postcards in the last challenge - I'll be choosing my favourite three this week and the results will be posted Tuesday 21st May.

The latest Craft Room challenge is to make your own background using rubber stamps.
The sponsor for the challenge is The Stampman - they have £10 for the lucky winner of the random draw to spend in their online store.

Here is the card I made for the challenge.

I stamped the white flowers with Versamark and embossed with clear powder then I coloured the card with Distress Inks. I then stamped the rest of the background with Distress Inks.
I used PaperArtsy stamps apart from the fern [Stamp Addicts] and the plant kindness and gather love [Stampotique].

The rest of the DT have made some fabulous samples so why not pay them a visit to take a look.

Fathers Day Cards

The June collage sheets over at Gecko Galz include a set called Man O Man, I have used this set to make my Fathers Day cards.
At the moment Gecko Galz have a sale on, if you buy a set of collage sheets you get another set free - so why not pop over there to take a look.

As well as using images from the Man O Man collage set I used a background paper called Noel from one of the Christmas sets and some Kraft card. I layered the papers onto a brown card blank.
I distressed the edges of the images and crumpled them up before matting onto brown card. I embossed a chipboard car shape with gold embossing powder and attached the sentiment. Lastly I attached some chain with brads.
I'm entering this card in the
Stamp Man  Make It For A Man Challenge.

I made this card with the Man O Man collage set and also used background paper from the Gypsy collection and a piece of Sonnet background Paper.
