Marieke Blockland took the first lesson at the Art Journal Summer School 2018, Go Flamingo is the title. I enjoyed this lesson apart from finding out that the journal I'm using doesn't like water colours especially where I've rubbed out part of my drawings and taken the top layer of paper of.
I'm entering my flamingos in the Art Journey Journey Art For Arts Sake challenge hosted by Chris.
I started colouring with watercolour and ended up using coloured pencils.
The quote says
Be a Flamingo, stay balanced, stand by your flock and always be fabulous.
Thank you for dropping by to take a look, enjoy the fabulous weather that we're having and have a good weekend. xxx

Seasonal Colour
Seasonal Colours is the theme that Zoe has chosen for the latest Craft-Room Challenge. She has given us an Autumn colour palette and a Spring colour palette - you only need to choose one but can do both if you wish.
Our sponsor this fortnight is Rogue Redhead Designs
For my DT piece I thought I'd have a go at some leaf printing. I've had a book for years and years called Nature Printing with Herbs, Fruit and Flowers by Laura Donnelly Bethmann, I thought it was time to read it properly.
This is the end result.
I sponged distress inks onto the backs of the leaves, sandwiched them between two sheets of watercolour paper and put them through my Big Shot.
This is the original print, I thought it was a bit pale so I lightly added some coloured pencil.
This is one of the prints that I decided not to use, I used a lovely juicy chrysanthemum and it made a bit of a mess which was a shame as the leaves were nice.
I used a cheap frame from a local charity shop.
I covered the frame with Weathered Wood Crackle Medium and when it was dry painted over it with a light coloured emulsion paint. Here is a snippet, you can just about see the colours showing through. I gave the frame a couple coats of matte varnish. The print was matted onto a piece of coloured card before framing.
As usual my teamies have made some fabulous samples and they would love you all to visit the Craft-Room to take a look,

Inchie - Brown
Brown is the word for this weeks challenge at Every Inchie Monday.
I wasn't sure what to do for this one until I remembered my Brown Betty teapot that lives at the top of a cupboard in my kitchen - I put tea bags straight into mugs when I make tea now so she hasn't been used for a long time.
I used coloured pencils.
