Alpha/Dictionary Challenge - B Is For Bird

I enjoyed doing the Craft Barns Calendar Challenge last year and have decided to join in with this years Alph/Dictionary Challenge. I'm into postcards at the moment and have decided to use postcards for the challenge - I'm hoping that's okay as there was no mention of postcards in the brief.

The first challenge is to use the letter B.

I used a brayer to apply acrylic paint onto the background, then I stencilled the leaves with green paint. I stamped the bird [Sheena Douglas stamps] onto the postcard and also onto white card, I coloured the bird on the white card with pencils, I also added colour to the leaves and went round them with a black pen. I cut out a piece of card for the branch, coloured it with pencils and glued it to the postcard. I cut out the bird and glued it over the image on the postcard and added part of a dictionary with the word bird on it. I painted the postcard with Multi Matt Medium and when it was dry I added more colour with my Pitt pens. The letter b was stamped.

Fire And Flames

Fire and Flames is this weeks Sunday Postcard Art challenge theme. I wasn't sure what to do for this challenge, in the end I decided to draw the word fire with flames coming out of it.

I started to colour it in with pencils but the colours weren't strong enough, so in the end I used my Pitt pens.

SPA Challenge - Comedy/Humour

Comedy/Humour is the theme for this weeks Sunday Postcard Art.

I have a few humorous stamps but the one I've used has been in my collection for years and only used once.

The background is a Gelly print. I stamped and embossed the Eve and words and stamped the apples. I drew the snake and everything was coloured with pencils.

SPA Challenge - Men In Hats

Men In Hats is the first challenge of the year for the Sunday Postcard Art.

I'm a bit short for time at the moment so I had to do a quick card. The background is a Gelli print that I made a few months ago. I stamped the Stampers Anonymous men images onto card and coloured them with pencils. I cut them out and glued them to the card. I wrote the Walt Whitman Quote on white card and drew some lines round the edge of the postcard.

First Post Of The Year

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone, this is my first post of the year and it's my DT piece for the Mixed Media Mojos January challenge, The theme is Winter with Glitter as the twist.

My project is a journal page.

I'm linking my page to the Art Journal Journey challenge - Winter Wonderland.

I covered my page with a very dark Gelli print, using a palette knife I spread some gesso that had gone very thick over it and added some white acrylic paint, I stamped the Artemio trees with Archival ink.

I covered the snowy area and parts of the trees with Imagination Crafts Sparkle Medium.

I stamped the Personal Impressions images onto white card, coloured them with coloured pencils and cut them out. After gluing them to the page I splattered some white paint over everything. The words are PaperArtsy stamps.

Here is a close up of the snowman showing the glitter. Sorry the photos are so dark, the light wasn't very good when I took them.
