I'm sharing my project with
The Art Journal Journey challenge - Masculine - Feminine.
The Anything But Cute challenge - Make It Masculine.
I started by scraping acrylic paint over the page then I did some stencilling with a fluorescent pink paint
I added some stamping to the background and did some lines with the edge of an old credit card.
I painted some white paint so that the stamped and embossed image would stand out. I edged the page using black Archival ink and then I added the Immanuel Kant quote, he was a German philosopher - born 1724 and died 1804 - "Man must be disciplined, for he is by nature raw and wild". I think the image looks a little wild.
Stamps used
After Midnight - the main image.
Dina Wakley - the border.
PaperArtsy - the white circles.
Stampers Anonymous - background.
There are some stamps on the background that I'm not sure who made them.
This is an amazing page Hazel-- I love the background and the quote fits very well !

Sorry about your poor ankle Hazel, hope it will soon be better, in spite of the petty colours. Thanks for linking your lovely journal page to us at Art Journal Journey, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful page! I just love the deep rich colours, they make a great backdrop for the black focal image! So many wonderful layers of stamping and stencilling, you created a wonderful depth! Love the sentiment too!

Man is raw and wild 100%. Fantabulous design and your background colors work so well with the manly focal image. I can see why you like the stamp! Hehe! Your layers of inks and that small alpha stamp add such creative depth. Awesome sauce!

Great page. I love the black image-I think stamped- in the middle of the page. And I love how you made a masculine page but included a bit of reddish-pink, just to show how all guys have a soft side???
ReplyDeleteVery creative, pretty or should I say handsome pages :) Thank you so very kindly for joining Make it Masculine challenge at Anything But Cute.

Handsome masculine journal page! I love the chosen colors to showcase that "wild" image--yes! the sentiment is perfect for this image! Nicely done composition, and layering up your stamped impressions give this such depth. Thank you for joining our Make It Masculine Challenge at Anything But Cute! Hugs, Sara Emily DT
