Birdcage Layout

This is my latest DT piece for GECKO GALZ, it's an 8"square layout using the birdcage and bird digi stamps and an image from the Little Darlings Ephemera sheet.

I enlarged the birdcage and printed it onto patterned paper, then I enlarged the birds, turned one of them round and printed them onto white card. I rounded the bottom corners of the birdcage and attached it to a piece of coordinating card that I had used a Martha Stewart punch to diecut the birds at the top. I attached some lace to three of the sides before matting it onto the base card. I rounded the corners of the image and used Victorian velvet Distress ink on the edges then attached it to the card. The last things that I did was to add a bow to the top of the cage, cut out the birds and attach them with some flowere down the side.

  4. Hi Hazel, I really thought I'd left a comment last night... must be old age confusing me!
Your birdcage card is absolutely exquisite and I love all the elements of it and the colour range is perfect. Can you let me know where you got the 7 flowers down the RHS, please. I used to buy similar from Cath when she had the shop and love them.

PS if you have problems getting the mag, try M&S where my SIL got her's today.
