I’m sorry that I haven’t been around for a while, I have arthritis in my hands and wrists, it flared up before Christmas and has been so painful, I couldn’t do anything and didn’t feel like doing anything and the doctor told me not to do anything. They’re now a lot better than they were and I’ve started doing bits and pieces about the house, my husband has never peeled so many potatoes in his life before.<br />
<br />
I managed to get in my craft room yesterday to make a Valentines card, hopefully I’ll be able to do more crafting and start blogging again soon.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4IRGriVmvWk/XkZ0gAcETwI/AAAAAAAAI7E/1eUCUyAzAVU2foVXb5SGgawxklM_-rcCACLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/670250B5-1368-40EB-B594-495B14545981.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1568" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4IRGriVmvWk/XkZ0gAcETwI/AAAAAAAAI7E/1eUCUyAzAVU2foVXb5SGgawxklM_-rcCACLcBGAsYHQ/s400/670250B5-1368-40EB-B594-495B14545981.jpeg" width="391" /></a></div>
<br />
I stamped and embossed the hearts on the background and coloured it with distress ink, the large Dina Wakley heart was stamped on card and cut out. I added some sequins.<br />
<br />
Thank you for visiting me to take a look, I hope to visit you all soon, have a lovely weekend. xxxhazelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03089144470459315405noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2988037510904515622.post-14560949697547497982019-11-10T01:06:00.000+00:002019-11-10T01:06:52.411+00:00SPA - Games We PlayGood morning everyone, I’m very happy to be hosting this weeks <a href="https://sundaypostcardart.wordpress.com/">Sunday Postcard Art</a> challenge, the theme I’ve chosen is The Games We Play.<br />

We’ve got decorators in the house at the moment and I’ve not been able to get into my craft room easily. I managed a few minutes in there a couple of days ago and made this quick collaged postcard.<br />

Today I’m sharing a couple of anniversary cards that I made earlier in the year.<br />
<br />
For the first card I painted the hearts with watercolour, splattered some gold paint and wrote the sentiment.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-C4Og8b_nlmc/XaxAqZrg5dI/AAAAAAAAI6A/z7pQWsBlZiszskV5cbaIiowUPxD1mOvSQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/68B68C41-7383-497E-A8DC-8FC9080BBBB7.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1468" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-C4Og8b_nlmc/XaxAqZrg5dI/AAAAAAAAI6A/z7pQWsBlZiszskV5cbaIiowUPxD1mOvSQCLcBGAsYHQ/s400/68B68C41-7383-497E-A8DC-8FC9080BBBB7.jpeg" width="366" /></a></div>
<br />
For this card I splattered some pink and gold paint onto a piece of handmade paper, I adhered some different fabrics to some hessian and adhered it to the card. I added the Tim Holtz paper doll image and the sentiment that I’d stamped onto fabric.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uciiKpl-Mro/XaxAq2E6IjI/AAAAAAAAI6E/nH398Ps_Ckkf9D84gDZDO9QGZCEg9q_MQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/30A2E362-2C20-4668-8ED4-FC13980CEBF3.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1186" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uciiKpl-Mro/XaxAq2E6IjI/AAAAAAAAI6E/nH398Ps_Ckkf9D84gDZDO9QGZCEg9q_MQCLcBGAsYHQ/s400/30A2E362-2C20-4668-8ED4-FC13980CEBF3.jpeg" width="296" /></a></div>

I’ve not been very well for the last couple of weeks, I caught a nasty virus from somewhere, I’ve not been able to get out and have spent most of the time in bed or under a blanket on the settee. No crafting has been done in my room but I’ve managed to do some embroidery which has made a nice change. I’ve started to feel a little better so hopefully I’ll be more my old self by the end of next week.<br />
<br />
I’ve been looking through my photos and found a few projects that haven’t been blogged yet so I’ll share A couple of them with you.<br />
<br />
The two spreads were made for the Art Journal Summer School 2019.<br />
<br />
I drew the lady and painted her with acrylic paint, the background was made with bits of paper and painted. The left page is just a piece of patterned paper that I wrote on.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9aQr-3kPdTM/Xaso0Uua4WI/AAAAAAAAI50/DfBudGIjuOc5X2m7Lcnbc8mmP54FzTYUwCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/C4684D1B-3180-43FA-8FC6-395BD903E5F6.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9aQr-3kPdTM/Xaso0Uua4WI/AAAAAAAAI50/DfBudGIjuOc5X2m7Lcnbc8mmP54FzTYUwCLcBGAsYHQ/s400/C4684D1B-3180-43FA-8FC6-395BD903E5F6.jpeg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
For this lesson we had to see what colours we could make with four watercolours.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This week I’m very happy to be hosting the <a href="https://sundaypostcardart.wordpress.com/">Sunday Postcard Art</a> challenge, the theme that I’ve chosen is Trees.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6G3ece0iV5w/XaHLmsN1xxI/AAAAAAAAI5k/nzjRpYEOQ4g5XIt49E3DXIGQ00JOqSn_QCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/AA611933-9326-4876-AD20-57152C8E8F9D.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1093" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6G3ece0iV5w/XaHLmsN1xxI/AAAAAAAAI5k/nzjRpYEOQ4g5XIt49E3DXIGQ00JOqSn_QCLcBGAsYHQ/s400/AA611933-9326-4876-AD20-57152C8E8F9D.jpeg" width="272" /></a></div>
<br />
I used a Gelli print for the background and stamped the Impression Obsession large tree. I stamped the Crafty Individuals trees onto a piece of Gelli print, cut it out and glued it to the card, I stamped the quote (unknown stamp) onto the same print and glued it to the card, the last thing I did was to go round the edges with a yellow Posca pen.<br />
<br />
Thank you for dropping by, enjoy what’s left of the weekend. xxxhazelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03089144470459315405noreply@blogger.com15tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2988037510904515622.post-36783360558127118042019-10-12T11:02:00.000+01:002019-10-12T11:15:02.794+01:00Humorous Tag And ATCHi everyone, this week I’ve joined the Pick A Stick Facebook challenge group, they have monthly art journal, tag and ATC challenges, here are my tag and ATC for this month.<br />

<br />
The background was coloured with acrylic paint and stamped with Archival ink, I don’t know the make of stamps. I collaged some book pages and washi tape to the bottom of the tag although the washi tape took over. The main image and words (both Art Impression stamps) were stamped onto card, coloured with felt tips, cut out and glued to the tag. I added some white dots using a Posca pen.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8U80XiZyzkY/XaGexvpJxbI/AAAAAAAAI5U/qow-4oJ1-okcpgTExSrjHYToUTV7af7fQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/707A5D78-7721-4F6A-8721-E3B9A822EE05.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1194" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8U80XiZyzkY/XaGexvpJxbI/AAAAAAAAI5U/qow-4oJ1-okcpgTExSrjHYToUTV7af7fQCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/707A5D78-7721-4F6A-8721-E3B9A822EE05.jpeg" width="238" /></a></div>
<br />
The background was coloured with acrylic paint and I used Posca pens to do the swirls, the little birdie (Joggles stamp) was stamped onto card, coloured with felt tips, cut out and glued to the ATC. The words are a Riley and Company stamp.<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I used gelli prints for the background and moon. I put some mushroom washi tape across the bottom of the card and stamped the mushroom silhouettes (stamp unknown) with black archival ink. The moon was stamped with an Aall & Create stamp. The mushrooms were printed from a drawing that I did, I cut them out and adhered them to the card, the fairy ( Caroline Stamps) was stamped onto card and cut out, the cat is a piece of washi tape. I wrote the words and doodled round the edges.<br />

I managed to follow the prompts everyday.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-719novxCNrs/XZTGh7ZhVmI/AAAAAAAAI4s/CLN0V6OK7-A6LMWAN6-5dwZ2uL01O0oKwCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/42F74BD5-ADBE-4B68-B37B-60B959360415.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-719novxCNrs/XZTGh7ZhVmI/AAAAAAAAI4s/CLN0V6OK7-A6LMWAN6-5dwZ2uL01O0oKwCLcBGAsYHQ/s400/42F74BD5-ADBE-4B68-B37B-60B959360415.jpeg" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
I used a couple of the prints for the background and I think the flowers are a Stampendous stamp, I coloured them with pencils, I added some thread and a die cut butterfly.<br />
<br />
I won’t show all the prints as there are too many but I’ll show you three piles, now all I have to do is think of what to use them for.<br />
<br />

<br />
Before I share my piece with you I must apologise with you all for my lack of commenting on your blogs, I’d decided to have a break from blogging but it wasn’t meant to be as long as two months.<br />
<br />
I made my dotty pages for a lesson at the Art Journal Summer School, the theme was inspired by the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, she’s the queen of polka dots.<br />
<br />
I think I still have time to enter it in the <a href="https://art-journal-journey.blogspot.com/">Art Journal Journey</a> challenge - Polka Dots, Stripes, Plaids or Patterns.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I drew the image and coloured it with coloured pencils.<br />
<br />

<br />
I used a stencil with some texture paste on the background and coloured it with watered Scribble Sticks, I let it dry and built up layers of colour drying each layer before adding more colour. I painted some tissue paper with white acrylic paint, when the paint was dry I stamped some Stampendous flowers on the side with no paint. I tore round the images and adhered them to the card. I coloured the flowers with Pitt pens and coloured pencils. I added some tissue tape for the Tim Holtz paper doll to stand on, I coloured her dress with pencil. I also splattered the card with silver paint, I’m glad it doesn’t show up on the photo as it looks like snow and I don’t like it,<br />

I covered my card with tissue paper that had a map pattern on it, then I die cut the Sizzix/Tim Holtz world map and embossed it with Frantage embossing powder, I adhered it to some coloured card and cut round it. I added some die cut seagulls and some word stickers.<br />

Thank you for visiting, have a lovely day. xxx<br />

<br />
For my DT piece I've decorated a papier-mache hand.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dUqx47RJ6TI/XO_2IPZJbpI/AAAAAAAAI0E/snxu1nSYcZUO6IanzYssWoG1PCkz7bo7ACLcBGAs/s1600/QUJZ9771.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="843" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dUqx47RJ6TI/XO_2IPZJbpI/AAAAAAAAI0E/snxu1nSYcZUO6IanzYssWoG1PCkz7bo7ACLcBGAs/s400/QUJZ9771.JPG" width="210" /></a></div>
<br />
I started by giving the hand a coat of white gesso.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0xX3GUPB0HA/XO_16fEnAGI/AAAAAAAAI0A/IgfTsHvxlTwFHNGYJbKQujW5LPmg2e7awCLcBGAs/s1600/TETS7919.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="500" data-original-width="375" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0xX3GUPB0HA/XO_16fEnAGI/AAAAAAAAI0A/IgfTsHvxlTwFHNGYJbKQujW5LPmg2e7awCLcBGAs/s320/TETS7919.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Then I adhered some scraps of paper napkins and rice paper.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is the front of the hand.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nxv2pljFM-I/XO_2V92CZ1I/AAAAAAAAI0M/Txu56dP3NMApFBGPghQO8jlsw5CklZx5QCLcBGAs/s1600/TENP4374.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="500" data-original-width="375" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nxv2pljFM-I/XO_2V92CZ1I/AAAAAAAAI0M/Txu56dP3NMApFBGPghQO8jlsw5CklZx5QCLcBGAs/s400/TENP4374.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is the back of the hand.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-keyvx6UUi3c/XO_2ZsFcTOI/AAAAAAAAI0U/8UaKzNz8ow0bonCGw8APHtDz2RqvEn92wCLcBGAs/s1600/QABT6535.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="500" data-original-width="375" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-keyvx6UUi3c/XO_2ZsFcTOI/AAAAAAAAI0U/8UaKzNz8ow0bonCGw8APHtDz2RqvEn92wCLcBGAs/s400/QABT6535.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
Then I did a couple of things that I wished I hadn't done - I coloured parts of the hand with turquoise paint and then I went a bit mad with some white and gold splatters.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RkFZVef8-Vk/XO_26fzZR4I/AAAAAAAAI00/Ke36gfhxmvY7oFP4ymMJO43YL67uvohdQCLcBGAs/s1600/IJHD8625.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="500" data-original-width="375" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RkFZVef8-Vk/XO_26fzZR4I/AAAAAAAAI00/Ke36gfhxmvY7oFP4ymMJO43YL67uvohdQCLcBGAs/s400/IJHD8625.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
I added some flowers to the base.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yid0ySmt_Oo/XO_2oMivQoI/AAAAAAAAI0k/VuVkgT0iIdUIyKGWk5BuaZqAUPZ9jk7zQCLcBGAs/s1600/QUJZ9771.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="843" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yid0ySmt_Oo/XO_2oMivQoI/AAAAAAAAI0k/VuVkgT0iIdUIyKGWk5BuaZqAUPZ9jk7zQCLcBGAs/s400/QUJZ9771.JPG" width="210" /></a></div>
<br />
A close up of the flowers and splatters.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-95agushg014/XO_2iXMAClI/AAAAAAAAI0s/8PiprtWT6IYjFRECZwn_UMq2N8qqxhjsgCEwYBhgL/s1600/BIZC4596.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="500" data-original-width="500" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-95agushg014/XO_2iXMAClI/AAAAAAAAI0s/8PiprtWT6IYjFRECZwn_UMq2N8qqxhjsgCEwYBhgL/s320/BIZC4596.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>

The theme for this weeks <a href="https://sundaypostcardart.wordpress.com/">Sunday Postcard Art</a> is stars.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oNjghC2CMGc/XOEicZcys4I/AAAAAAAAIzM/u4zRZRCnHnUcTIC19YlPhUM8aljGoOa6QCLcBGAs/s1600/5E8CD4B3-3F27-4D3D-A96F-91653119D54E.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1122" data-original-width="1600" height="280" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oNjghC2CMGc/XOEicZcys4I/AAAAAAAAIzM/u4zRZRCnHnUcTIC19YlPhUM8aljGoOa6QCLcBGAs/s400/5E8CD4B3-3F27-4D3D-A96F-91653119D54E.jpeg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I stamped the Carabelle Studio houses with black Archival ink and coloured them with watercolour paints then I watercoloured the sky. When the paint was dry I splattered the sky with Kuretake metallic watercolour paint. I stamped the stars [unknown stamp] and coloured them with the metallic paint and drew round them with a black Posca pen.<br />
<br />
Thank you for visiting you’re all very welcome, have a lovely day. xxxhazelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03089144470459315405noreply@blogger.com12tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2988037510904515622.post-3810580452665152472019-05-01T00:30:00.000+01:002019-05-01T00:30:02.715+01:00Altered Journal CoverThe 1st of May already and time for a new challenge at <a href="http://alteredeclectics.blogspot.com/">Altered Eclectics</a>, as always the theme is anything goes as long as it’s mixed media/altered art.<br />
<br />
I’ve altered a journal cover for my DT project.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-x54CJak9Sjk/XMhmRvySu7I/AAAAAAAAIyU/hqMnZiIzAJsrSopds-mWSa0qu8w5GJOUwCLcBGAs/s1600/83CF803D-DE1A-44D6-AB7E-47FE875B6775.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1032" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-x54CJak9Sjk/XMhmRvySu7I/AAAAAAAAIyU/hqMnZiIzAJsrSopds-mWSa0qu8w5GJOUwCLcBGAs/s400/83CF803D-DE1A-44D6-AB7E-47FE875B6775.jpeg" width="257" /></a></div>
<br />
The journal started life with a plain kraft cover.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-owCwcvR8NGQ/XMhnuJtCnRI/AAAAAAAAIyg/mvXdGRQqeRcVjdb0d32byl4azeVjjmkVgCLcBGAs/s1600/FD67D9F0-80EE-440A-BF3E-673F7CE28F7D.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1027" height="400" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-owCwcvR8NGQ/XMhnuJtCnRI/AAAAAAAAIyg/mvXdGRQqeRcVjdb0d32byl4azeVjjmkVgCLcBGAs/s400/FD67D9F0-80EE-440A-BF3E-673F7CE28F7D.jpeg" width="256" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I covered it with a gelli print and stencilled the flowers with acrylic paint [Decoart and Paperartsy], I stamped some leaves with a Dina Wakley stamp and paint. When the paint had dried I doodled on the flowers and leaves with Posca pens I also drew some tiny flowers.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wGmzUrLVZOc/XMhojechBwI/AAAAAAAAIys/LAm4VziOCicoPfC8B9d0ohngVlFzGNAzACLcBGAs/s1600/A4282E32-C79D-445A-AEBD-281F8982A555.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1393" data-original-width="1600" height="347" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wGmzUrLVZOc/XMhojechBwI/AAAAAAAAIys/LAm4VziOCicoPfC8B9d0ohngVlFzGNAzACLcBGAs/s400/A4282E32-C79D-445A-AEBD-281F8982A555.jpeg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I found a couple of fabrics in my fabric stash, a green one for the leaves and a yellow one with pretty pink roses on it for the flowers, it's quite a bright yellow but it doesn't show up very well on the photo. I adhered the material to some card and cut out the flower and leaf shapes, I used a black pen on the edges and then adhered them to the page.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fZQi_BlP598/XMhr_KAASwI/AAAAAAAAIy4/A9LLA2gDP-sBHKd2a5R_HZZMYnHLR0mYACLcBGAs/s1600/XPGZ9473.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="500" data-original-width="322" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fZQi_BlP598/XMhr_KAASwI/AAAAAAAAIy4/A9LLA2gDP-sBHKd2a5R_HZZMYnHLR0mYACLcBGAs/s400/XPGZ9473.JPG" width="257" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
