Another LIM Card

I've managed to make another card for the LESS IS MORE sketch challenge.
I stamped the image onto white card and coloured it with watercolour pencils, then went round the edge with a blue ink pad and I also went round the edge of the card blank with the blue ink pad. I attached the image to the card and added some stickles on the snowy bits, then I stamped the Season's Greetings.
All the stamps that I've used are by Creative Expressions.

A Little Message Just For You

I'm not feeling too good at the moment, think I must have caught a bug at Ally Pally at the weekend, so I've made a simple card for the CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS design team this week using the Vintage Typewriter stamp set.
I coloured a piece of white card with tattered rose Distress ink using the direct to paper technique and then went round the edges with victorian velvet. I then stamped the alphabet round the edge and attached it to a black card blank. The typewriter and words were stamped onto white card and after cutting them out I clear embossed the images. For the flower I coloured a book page with worn lipstick and peeled paint Distress stain then using Quickutz dies I cut the flower and leaves out, after attaching them to the card I put a little black gem in the centre of the flower.

Text As Nonsense

Alice didn't dare to argue the point, but went on: `-- and I thought I'd try and find my way to the top of that hill -- ' `When you say "hill,"' the Queen interrupted, `I could show you hills, in comparison with which you'd call that a valley.' `No, I shouldn't,' said Alice, surprised into contradicting her at last: `a hill can't be a valley, you know. That would be nonsense -- ' The Red Queen shook her head, `You may call it "nonsense" if you like,' she said, ` but I've heard nonsense, compared with which that would be as sensible as a dictionary!' -- Chapter 2, Through The Looking Glass and What Alice Found There
For the challenge this month at the ALTERED ALICE  Lynne wants us to use text in a non reading way. I decided to use the Mad Hatter digi from the Octopode Factory.
I started of by taking a page from an old Alice In Wonderland book and splatting it with worn lipstick, rusty hinge and broken china Distress Stain, then I crumpled it up, opened it out again and attached it to a tag. I then took a picture of the tea party from the book, coloured it with old paper and vintage photo Distress ink and attached to the tag, then I added some gold cord. I printed the Mad Hatter and coloured him with Promarkers, cut him out and attached him to the tag. I crumpled up a die cut flower and leaf and coloured them with Distress ink, then stamped some unreadable words onto the flower using a Tattered Angels stamp, these were attached to the tag and I put a gem into the middle of the flower. I made a couple of hat pins by sticking some beads to a couple of dressmakers pins and then stuck them in the Hatters hat.

The letters were stamped on a seperate piece of card edged with vintage photo. The typewriter was stamped and embossed on a seperate piece of card and cut out then I stamped the words. The tag was then embellished with paper clips, staples and ribbon.

Anything Christmas

Well another fortnight has flown by and it's time for another CRAFT-ROOM CHALLENGE. The challenge has been chosen by the lovely Julia and she has chosen Anything Christmas.
I decided to make a card using one of my oldest and much loved stamps. I started of by matting some gold card onto a red card blank and on top of this I matted a piece of patterned paper that I'd distressed the edges leaving them white. I then attached a piece of gold net across the centre. The poinsettia was stamped twice onto white card and I coloured the petals with watercolour pencils and water brush. I distressed the edge of one of the images and coloured with vintage photo Distress ink, the image was then matted onto gold card and attached to the card blank. I cut out some of the petals on the spare image and 3D them onto the main image then I added some gold beads. The sentiment is a pre-made one, I distressed the edge and coloured with vintage photo then attached it to the card. The last thing was to add a few gold gems.

The poinsettia stamp is by PSX.

Why not pop over to the Craft Room challenge blog to look at the rest of the samples that the talented DT have made and don't forget to be eligible for the prize you need to put the Craft Room logo into your side bar with a link to the Craft-Room.

I matted it onto black card and then attached it to a piece of paper that's decorated with peacock feathers. I then covered it all with a piece of acetate attaching it with the little pink flower brads and then I matted it on to a piece of black card. I then attached the whole thing to a notebook that I had covered with patterned paper.

Less Rum

Here is my latest DT piece for CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS using the Wrinkles Don't Hurt stamp sheet.
I coloured a piece of white card with spun sugar and milled lavender Distress ink and edged it with tea dye, then I used corner and border Martha Stewart punches around the edge, then using a stamp from the Creative Expressions Butterfly stamp sheet I stamped  the crackle effect onto it. I attached the card to a piece of green card that I'd edged with tea dye and then attached it to a card blank that I'd covered with floral paper. Ethel was stamped onto a piece of white card and coloured with Promarkers then she was cut out and attached to the card with foam pads, the words were also attached with foam pads then I added a few flowers.

Ballerina Card

It's my daughters 27th birthday today and this is the card I've made for her. When she was a child she was very slight and looked so frail and I thought she might make a dancer, so of she went to ballet lessons, but it was not to be, she moved like a 4 year old fairy elephant with two left feet, but not only that - she hated it, although  she always, and still does, enjoy going to watch a ballet.
I've used the beautiful Gecko Galz ballerina image and I printed the lovely ballet shoes from a My Craft Studio CD. I covered a card blank with some paper from my stash and added some satin ribbon, a couple of lovely fluffy feathers and the images that I'd matted onto a pearly pink card.

Gecko Galz Halloween Hanging

This is my latest DT piece for GECKO GALZ. I used a frame from the Spooky Sentiments Ephemera Sheets and the lovely witch images are from the Witching Hour Ephemera Sheets. I enlarged the frame and printed one copy then I cropped the pumpkins and printed them four time so that I could 3D them. I attached the frame to a 9"x5" piece of mountboard that I'd painted with orange and black acrylic paint. I reduced the witch images to fit the frame then attached them to the frame. I stuck torn bits of tissue tape to the images to make it look like that they were stuck down with it. I dyed a white piece of fabric with rusty hinge and peeled paint Distress Stains and water, a piece was attached to the bottom of the hanging and I used a strip for the hanger. For the spiders and web I used a Quickutz die and black card. I also attached three buttons.

Autumnal Clock

Well another two weeks have flown by and it's time for another CRAFT-ROOM CHALLENGE. The challenge this time is Home Decor and it has been chosen by Maria. I freaked a bit at the thought of this challenge and then remembered that I'd bought a couple of clock blanks a long time ago and decided that it was time to use one of them. Why not visit the Craft-Room Challenge Blog to see the fabulous samples that the rest of the Design Team have made and don't forget to be eligible for the prize draw you need to display the Craft-Room logo in your sidebar with a link to the shop.
This is how my clock started life.
I sprayed some white card with Adirondack color wash, when it had dried I cut a circle to fit the clock face and punched a hole through the centre with a pencil and stamped the tree. I coloured the outer rim with Distress stain and stamped some branches on it then I embossed the edge with Cosmic Shimmer bright gold utee. I die cut the clock face with grungeboard using the Tim Holtz Sizzix Alterations die, then I painted it black. The next thing I did was to stick all the pieces together and attach the workings and the clock hand.
For the leaves I stuck some sticky backed aluminium to some black card and coloured it with Stazon, then I cut the leaves out using Spellbinders assorted leaves dies. These dies also emboss at the same time.
The flowers are cut out of some card that I'd coloured with Distress stains, I used the Tim Holtz, Sizzix Alterations tattered florals die. I attached the leaves and flowers to the clock and added some gems to the middle of the flowers. I was pleasantly surprised that the clock worked after I put the battery in and is still going strong.

I'm going to enter my clock in the ALTER IT MONTHLY Tree, Leaf, Branch, Twig challenge.

Ingredients.
Adirondack color wash, butterscotch, lettuce and terra cotta.
Stazon, pumpkin, cactus green and olive green.
Distress stain, rusty hinge.
Adirondack paint dabber, pitch black.
Stamps Graphicus and Inkadinkado.

Moonlight Drive

Here is my latest CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS DT piece from the Wrinkles Don't Hurt stamp sheet. Murray is taking Ethel out for a romantic drive in the moonlight.
I started of by cutting a heart shape out of some paper and placed it onto the card before inking the background, then I removed the heart and placed the the paper with the heart shaped hole over the background and coloured the heart. I then stamped the branches. The main image was stamped onto card and coloured with Promarkers, then cut out and attached to the card with foam pads. I then decided that it needed an owl and found one that I thought fitted the bill perfectly. I stamped him over the moon and coloured him with Promarkers. The decorated card was then attached to a white card blank that I'd edged with dusty concord Distress ink.

Ingredients.
Stormy sky, faded jeans and dusty concord Distress ink for the background.
Silver Adirondack acrylic paint dabber for the moon.
Creative Expressions Wrinkles Don't Hurt stamps for the main image.
Woodware stamp for the owl.
A mixture of Elusive Images and Inkadinkado stamps for the branches.

Take Three Challenges

The challenge at Less Is More this week is to choose three of the previous 29 challenges.
The three I have chosen are:
Week 9 A touch of red.
Week 15 Embossing.
Week 25 Button or ribbon.
The card I made is fairly straight forward. I stamped the lovely robbin with coffee Archival ink and coloured him with red watercolour pencil and a water brush, the ebossed card was done with a dotty Cuttlebug folder I also embossed the image. I distressed the edges of the image and embossed card.
The robin is an Andy Skinner stamp and the seasons greetings is an Inkadinkado stamp.
That's my first Christmas card of the year done.
